Carney's "Elbows Up!" is more like "Mouth round 😛". He is clearly just Trump's b1tch.

First, Carney was forced to drop his majestic tariffs after Trump went silverback on him in the WH (Carney lied - again - and pretended the tariffs were still going strong during the debates), and then Trump forced him to drop his digital dervices tax with a single mean tweet.

But check out the CBC's spin on it:

  • Canada rescinds digital services tax to advance trade discussions with the United States

Awwwww, Carney just "advanced trade discussions", the same way Germany heroically marched into that train car to sign the Armistice 😂.

But instead of talking about how badly our PM is getting dummied, and the repercussions of that, leftists here are trying to act like the biggest issue right now is how badly Poilievre is doing.

Huh?

How is all of their focus squarely on a guy who isn't even an MP right now? Our country is getting pummelled from behind and we're having a "Victory Over Common Sense" parade. YAY!

Remember when our Liberal gov't and their appointee as Governor of the Bank of Canada dropped interest rates during covid, causing house prices to skyrocket, and then shot the interest rates up to 6% at the beginning of 2022?

The banks in Canada are making obscene amounts of money off of hard-working Canadians thanks to that stellar LPOC leadership: homeowners' payments went up by thousands of dollars a month. And now, thanks to the LPOC's high inflation and the current trade war they got us into, homeowners are simply unable to keep up:

ScreenShot2025-07-05at5_37_55PM.thumb.png.9fb279c4bf8561554f883c76b6342334.png

This is just getting started. Maybe not so much in Sask, but in BC for sure.

Prices dropped off in a big way when the mtg rates spiked, and people who bought at the peak of the market in BC, in Feb 2022, quickly saw their home's value drop substantially, and in Feb 2027 their 5-yr terms will be up and they'll all have to try to re-fi, based on their homes' diminished value, and that's a train wreck waiting to happen.

How are we gonna keep the banks from just mopping the floor with ex-homeowners?

Like I've been saying since the election, this woulda been a good one for the LPOC to lose, so that Poilievre was left holding the bag in 2027.

This mortgage crunch, and the trade war with the US, make for an extremely bleak economic outlook for Canadians over the next two years.

But, POILIEVRE!!!!

Disagree.

Carney is a wise, careful bureaucrat. I have wondered how Poilievre would have dealt with Trump.

Carney is shooting off his mouth and then having to do a complete 180° at least once a month. That's not "wise and careful".

Poilievre has never been that much of an idjit.

What would have Poilievre done any different?

Round up everyone that voted for the left, and dumped them in Quebec......"you'll get along"....leaving all the rest of the provinces with sensible government with sensible budgets..that would be a great start...

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

Disagree. Still laughing.

Urban Montrealers are not Quebec.

Canada is a remarkable country.

Carney threw a bone to the barking growling dog to get in the yard. Would've been better to negotiate away, but he is dealing with a DOG after all.
WastecanMan just wants others to talk it into a major disaster long after it's been talked to death.

Poilievre would have countered Trump's BS with facts. It's what Poilievre is known for. That's what made him famous here, and it's why conservatives in Canada LOVE him. He has extensive knowledge on all these topics so he doesn't get steamrolled like Carney does.

The MSM will lie to you about the veracity of what he says, or just keep it from you if they can't spin it, but the man is on-point in a big way, all the time.

Sure, we have tariffs and we make some car parts, but we buy ~9% of the cars in NA and we only make 9% of the cars/parts. And we also charge tariffs on European and Asian cars to protect the US auto industry. It's called the auto-pact and it has been working for 60+ years. Trump even signed off on that sh1t in the USMCA.

Sure, we have tariffs preventing American milk, etc, from coming here, and the Americans protect and subsidize their own farmers in their own ways as well.

We also sell oil in the US at 60% of its value. The US makes bank on Alberta oil. Part of the reason gas is cheap in the US is they get it for almost half price from us.

Our trade partnership with the US is a give-and-take scenario, not all-give, no-take" from the US POV, as Trump likes to frame it.

Carney never manned up to say any of that. He just ran his mouth like a child while he was here in Canada, then sat in the WH sucking his thumb while Trump scolded him, then he came back here and lied about his tariffs, then he made a big splash about the digital services act, then Trump sat him down with a mean tweet.

1) Carney doesn't engage in factual debates with Trump. He doesn't state Canada's position clearly, he just acts tough and then gets spanked all the time.

2) Carney and the Liberals never had to think for themselves, or arm themselves with facts before, because no matter what they say or do domestically, the MSM here polishes it all up for them, like they just did when they framed Carney backpedaling on the Dig Svc Tax as him "working to advance our trade relationship with the US". Now we need a leader who can think and act with wisdom and cunning, but we elected a dud, because the MSM demanded it. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

In an Asian country like Japan or China, a leader losing face like Carney did - TWICE now in just a few moths - would be cause for resignation, but in Canada and the US the MSM just rallies around leftist leaders no matter how badly they fail and then criticize everything that conservatives do regardless of how correct they are.

Maybe the dumbest thing I ever saw in my whole lifetime was when our Deputy PM, C- Freeland, said "we need to make stronger alliances with nuclear-armed countries like Britain and France so that they can protect us from the US". That's something that a small child might say, but it was our #2 in command ffs. Did the media laugh? Did they mention how utterly ridiculous it was? No, they framed it as a serious, intelligent comment. A few months later we even signed a "Europe-Canada defence Alliance" ffs, as if Europe wouldn't just line up to congratulate the US after it was all over. You really need to learn the basic principles of the Sun Tzu if you think I'm wrong.

Our leaders are f-king ret4rded and no matter what they do or say, the CBC spins it all as positive and brave and patriotic.

This is a f'n shitshow right now. We are a JOKE. Carney is a joke, the CBC is a joke, and we're the ones with the egg on our faces.

P.S. - you might think of a guy like Xi as a brutal leader who will maintain power no matter what, but's the exact opposite. If he embarrassed China the way Carney embarrassed Canada, he would be saving his own life if he resigned.
