Firstly, I do call several members of this forum LOSERS,. They are the ones that don't get they lost the election and that their leader even lost his seat.

Secondly, as I said, there are thousands of homes for sale every month and they are selling. So, someone must be buying. II posted that the age of homebuyers in 1970 was 29 and 50 years later it is now 36. The link stated that lifestyle, staying in schools longer, having to pay off student loans and delaying having families are some of the reasons. I  also showed a link of the thousands of homes up for sale every month are selling....someone must be buying them??

I watch Carney at meetings with Premiers, closing inter provincial trade barriers, I see him at meetings with municipalities and letting them know what plans are in the works for housing and other federal assistance. I see him cancelling tariffs on American goods so we, Canadians, do not have to pay the 25% tariff on fruits, vegetables and other necessities. 

What I see from =the conservatives is exactly the same as before the election...only complaints and whining. Like Scheer said in the question period..."why does the leiberals delay the budget...it is a disgrace (and on and on and on) and Carneys response e was "Polievere has a book on what he was going to do in the first 100 days if he won and nowhere in that book was any mention of a budget." Sheer shut right up.

I have to say, this forum has become as toxic and tainted and any Republican vs Democrat forum or page in the US.

I seem to recall that most Provinces have a laws against foreign ownership of homes.

Canada has also imposed such restrictions "In 2022, Canada implemented a ban on foreign ownership of residential property, prohibiting non-Canadians from purchasing homes in the country. This ban was extended by an additional two years in 2024, set to expire on January 1, 2027."

And, as I said, there are thousands and thousands of home for sale and...they are all selling. So, someone is buying them.

what do you mean 'not only'? Nippon steel is going to invest in and start selling steel in the us and will be able to bring prefinished product to the US to be completed as 'american' and sold locally.  We did the same thing with chinese steel btw which is what pissed off trump during the first term when he put tariffs on. 

That means japan will be selling more steel products in the us and it's own steel industries will not be as burdened and meanwhile Ontario is going to lose jobs and profit

Foreigners can start a canadian corp and even tho it's owned 100 percent by foreigners it can buy as much real estate as it wants. 

Further all those temporary foreign workers and students are exempt.  So foreign investors who have a kid studying here or who know someone who does can very easily buy property here through the kid. 

Now, as a result of these easily bypassed 'optics based' policies the majority of rental properties are owned by corporations (used to be mom and pop landlords) that foreigners just own the shares in. Yay, so much better
