You live in the liberal left fantasyland.  Prosperity and jobs are built on private enterprise and investment in things that make money.  In Canada that is natural resources.   

You don't seem to understand simple logic.  Government doesn't create wealth by simply wishing or trying to start some other industry that doesn't make money.  That's not how economies work.

If manufacturing was a money-making industry in Canada, why don't we have it other than the auto industry which is government subsidized and under threat by Trump now?

There is not much manufacturing industry in Canada because it can't compete with the less expensive goods from the rest of the world.

Forestry is the major industry in B.C.  It generates prosperity and allows the people of B.C. to raise their families and have a good life.

I couldn't answer that.  Nobody knows why God gave eternal life to them.  The Bible says believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.  All I can tell is what the Bible says.  I don't have any other special source to knowledge than what God has said in his word.
