eyeball Posted Tuesday at 02:13 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 02:13 AM CBC just called it... Liberals will form the next government with the caveat that it remains to be seen if it will be a majority. 1 Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

SpankyMcFarland Posted Tuesday at 02:36 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 02:36 AM The speed of that shocked me. Imagine the number of politicians of every party muttering, ”you jammy bastard” (the Liberals very softly), as they watch Carney accepting the crown. Talk about timing. Quote
eyeball Posted Tuesday at 03:02 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 03:02 AM I'm stoked, things are unfolding the way I hoped - with there being a bonus chance my representative and riding will not be without influence in the next Parliament. In today's world Canadians would be well served by having a more cooperative than confrontational Parliament. In addition to that minority governments are probably the closest we'll get to proportional representation. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Do you honestly think this result is going to bring people together? If anything it's going to create more divisions and carney is going to make that worse. That's not a man is going to be reaching out to Alberta to try and heal any wounds. This government is going to spend all of its time looking to the next election and everybody is going to be focused on that. As soon as the NDP has a new leader the game will be on and nothing is getting done Just now, SpankyMcFarland said: I don’t like FPTP at all but I’m not sure I care for this protest either: https://www.ctvnews.ca/federal-election-2025/article/elections-canada-managing-long-ballot-with-90-candidates-challenging-poilievre/ And it's hard to call it a protest against first past the post when the only people they targeted was the conservatives after the liberals promised to change it and then didn't Looks more like just an excuse to attack conservatives. Well they are still going to be part of the balance of power. Assuming things shake out the way we're looking at the liberals Are going to have to make at least two out of the three parties happy to get stuff past properly At this point it looks like the conservatives and liberals are going to be within 10 seats of each other Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
