Pretending that trump and the tariff wars never happened and that if this is all just poilievre screwing up is disingenuous to an extreme degree.

Expecting a leader to have the skills to adapt to changing conditions on the fly is not unreasonable. The fact Poilievre hasn't is pretty strong evidence he's not the person for the job.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Elections Canada's website is down. More funny business

Hey, did anyone else hear that? I thought I heard a Theremin in the background.

But he did. As noted he's still doing better than any other leader in the last 30 years other than justin in 2015.

The problem is the bloc didn't. And the ndp didn't. THeir votes are going to the libs.

The local Tories are very happy about their performance in Atlantic Canada so far.

They did well or so it seems.  but the problem is the block has collapsed. The libs have to be thrilled with that. It's a big thing for the libs. I think that's going to sink the cpc

Wait until you get to BC where some ridings are swinging 4 ways!!

It just won't matter with the bloc utter collapse, and the ndp collapsing with them.

CBC just called it... Liberals will form the next government with the caveat that it remains to be seen if it will be a majority.

This was bold.  But didn’t age well.  Good for you for going out on a limb though!

You should see my record of predictions on elections, horses, cars, stocks, girlfriends, investment advisers - a litany of disaster. The more it mattered the wronger I was.

Echoes of 1997 with Quebec as the kingmaker this time after a good Tory showing way out east.

I'm stoked, things are unfolding the way I hoped - with there being a bonus chance my representative and riding will not be without influence in the next Parliament.

In today's world Canadians would be well served by having a more cooperative than confrontational Parliament.

In addition to that minority governments are probably the closest we'll get to proportional representation.

As long as that doesn’t give the BQ any role in the government of this ‘artificial’ country.

You spend all of your time here spreading hatred and division.

Do you honestly think this result is going to bring people together? If anything it's going to create more divisions and carney is going to make that worse. That's not a man is going to be reaching out to Alberta to try and heal any wounds.

This government is going to spend all of its time looking to the next election and everybody is going to be focused on that. As soon as the NDP has a new leader the game will be on and nothing is getting done

And it's hard to call it a protest against first past the post when the only people they targeted was the conservatives after the liberals promised to change it and then didn't

Looks more like just an excuse to attack conservatives. We're kind of used to it

Well they are still going to be part of the balance of power. Assuming things shake out the way we're looking at the liberals Are going to have to make at least two out of the three parties happy to get stuff past properly

At this point it looks like the conservatives and liberals are going to be within 10 seats of each other
