Crazy. Tragic. Waiting for more details, looks like possible terrorism. 

Once again, pointing out that people bent on causing great harm to others don't need a gun to do so.

A man intentionally drove a pickup truck into a crowd of revelers on Bourbon Street in New Orleans' French Quarter early on New Year's Day, killing 10 people and injuring dozens of others, officials said. The FBI said the driver was killed in a firefight with police. 

The suspect driving the car in New Orleans has been identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar, two federal officials told CBS News.

This is absolutely horrible. The cops at this time are saying that they don't think it's a terrorist act, but as always is the case we can expect the story to change two or three times over the next few days is more information becomes available. Sounds like the guy managed to Wing two cops too but it sounds like they'll be okay thankfully. What an absolutely devastating way to start the new year. It'll be interesting if they can find a motive or not or if the guys just a random nut bar.

It's beyond horrible, and there's a lot who were very badly wounded and will spend a fair bit of time recuperating. They may be better off than the dead but their lives are probably permanently altered.

Well without a doubt this is obviously one twisted individual no matter how you slice it. 

WIth that much prep he will have been sick for a while. There should be a trail to follow to try to figure out some motivation for this.

Police say they don't believe he was acting alone.  They seemed to have confirmed he was inspired by ISIS and had the ISIS flag one the back of his truck.

Possibly a copycat type thing from the Germany crowd car attack?

He probably would have liked to have killed on Xmas day, but everyone's typically inside.  New Years is an obvious easier target.

He was probably an extremists and the motivation probably had something to do with Gaza.  Pro-Palestine protestors were out marching on NYE and boxing day.
