Nationalist Posted December 31, 2024 Report Posted December 31, 2024 Dog Chow needs to be dispensed with here in TO and so do those damn bike lanes. The cross-town LRT still isn't running and the Gardener is a nightmare. It's a fckin' mess here. Federally...our government and Prime Minister are both a joke. People globally are taking note and not in a good way. Canada has become wrinkled-up old ballerina whose put on 50 lbs. from over eating. It's embarrassing, it's obvious and everyone knows it can't go on. Quote Its so lonely in m'saddle since m'horse died.

Nope, it doesn't care a bit. From the Star's politics of joy article; This isn’t to say that progressives should fold over on every issue that they’re losing to their conservative counterparts. But they have to start from the basic premise that if people are angry, they have every right to be. And to get to work in articulating a more compelling response to that anger. Of course people have a right to be angry but they don't have the right to be so stupid about how they articulate their anger. Speaking of a compelling response progressives will need a lot more than the conspiratorial and ideological shit they're all too often given by conservatives to work with. I think the politics of joy have had their day too and progressives need to take a more get-in-your-face stance with a message that says go get a grip, take a bunch of deep breaths, give your heads a shake and then come and talk. I'm not folding I'm staying out of the way and saying fine, go for it, without a grip your policies will be based on anger instead of reason, they will fail to quench the anger and politics never mind the joy will circle the drain even faster until it comes around and takes you down too. Look at MAGA for example, Trump hasn't even been sworn in yet and you can already see the direction it's going. The anger just keeps moving ever farther to the right and the litter of cancelled. conservatives left behind like the Cheney's and the Frums will only grow. That was both accurate and hilarious SIde story, we learned the calculations for hydroplaning when i was a pilot and we were studying james brake index and how to calculate how various conditions affected your landing stopping distance etc, and on the way home from class that night it was raining like hell so i worked out the calculations in my head for what speed i would hydroplane over given the car's tire pressure etc and figured out that it was about 20 kmh slower than the speed i was going about 3 seconds before i hit a big flood puddle and damn near wound up in the ditch Thus proving that it's not just knowledge that's valuable, it's TIMELY knowledge (and possibly a pocket calculator). Sure they do. That's the problem with anger. THat's why it's bad to ignore the anger as you and the left have for quite some time. Take the cbc as one example of many. When harper first ran for Prime minister it was noted that the CBC was a little one-sided in its reporting. Throughout harper's entire term the situation became worse and worse and people commented on it and said this was not fair. When Justin got in the situation became intolerable and people were angry and said this needs to stop. By the time the CBC was actively lying in order to try and throw the alberta election people were livid. Now Poilievre is going to completely defund the CBC. And it will almost certainly go broke except for possibly Radio Canada. And the left is screaming about how that's an 'overreaction' and it's 'stupid' etc etc. But you had 20 years to fix that problem and you ignored it. Hell you egged it on. You've had 10 years where you KNEW, you KNEW it was a serious issue but because it worked in your favour you ignored the anger building up. Now the left cries "Oh... well if you're THAT angry i guess we should fix it, not throw it out! That's more reasonable, lets correct the problems!" Nope! Too late. Nobody who's even remotely right or even centrist has any faith you'd correct anything, they're furious, they want it gone and they dont' want another nickel of their money going to a left wing propaganda machine. And they have every right to feel that way AND act on it. this is a lesson the left desperately needs to learn. People do have the right to act on their anger and if you allow situations to grow to the point where the people are furious because of your bad behavior that you're going to have to live with the consequences Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
