ExFlyer Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 PP's big speech today in Vancouver started off so wrong. He began and carried on with a very long diatribe...all in French. Word is, most out West turned off his news conference and he may, as a result, alienated many westerners. The West, and not just BC, is tired of the "french". Should have begun in English and then the french, especially in primarily english BC. 1 Quote Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.

Some of the richest multimillionaires i know still haggle with vendors and drive an extra block if the gas is cheaper by a few cents at that station. Quote It appears, based on Canada 338, that it is going to the grits. I'm not worried though. My MP is Kevin Waugh and his seat is safe. Certainly that will be the liberals pitch during the election, vote for us to help stop the evil Poilievre from winning we must all of us on the left band together in unity, huzzah!! We've seen it many times from them. However we have seen this new leader Vibe vanish extremely quickly as well. Kamala shot up in the states and was supposedly slightly ahead of trump for most of the election and certainly never far behind, but come election day it turned out that this simply wasn't the case. But sadly for the NDP Jaggers has definitely put them in an undesirable rock / hard place interface situation and any decision they make now could be the wrong one. 1 Quote

I tried to listen but the translation from French to English was an eye watering disaster between garbled closed captioning and especially the translators voice being barely more audible than PP's voice. This last irritant has pissed me off for years. Why on Earth can't they completely mute the person being translated? Nothing causes me to change a channel faster. herbie Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 A silly as having someone at every event doing sign language? Like they can't scroll on the same screen, or do they think deaf people can't read? Besides, three or four people there understood PP's french. the others knew he had nothing worthwhile to say. Quote

Yup, that was one reason but primarily, but if you are in the West, you start your press conference in English. Imagine the outrage if he went into Quebec and did his opening monologue in English?? Barquentine Posted February 6 Report Posted February 6 What happens if the Tories get the most votes but not enough to form a government? Who would join a coalition with them? Quote
