I figure that the federal Liberals will either

a) fold and give the money

b) prologue (dissolve, restart)

Trudeau Jnr wants more time, he thinks that he can win - like his father in 1978.

I doubt either of those two things are likely. But it is quite possible that they might make some sort of counter offer and put something on the table just so that Quebec doesn't hate them.

If they do program it would be more likely to be because the privilege question is still before the house holding everything up. But I don't think that goes away just by corroded boiler it. I think it would be back in force in the new year

There's no chance of the NDP voting down the Government before the end of February. So Trudeau isn't going to be terribly worried about it

I hadn't thought of that.

Delay the making of the deal.

It looks like there is a revolt against Trudeau within Liberal party. If he is replaced then all equations will change. Same happened when Harris replaced Biden in US elections. Choosing a new leader would take months. Not sure what would happen if government falls in the middle of it.

And as the initial part of their pharmacare plan is now law, the NDP is unlikely to see it immediately dumped by the Tories.

Shouldn't call them Tories anymore, now they're the CPC Conservative Pricks Conservatives.

GIves them both a chance to save face and look tough.

The libs have already said they're "happy to discuss the issue and negotiate" but that they refused to be 'held ransom " by the bloc and would not do as the bloc wished by the deadline.

So we'll see what the next move is.

Opposed to pharmacare, dentacare, child care and school lunches and consider others small minded?

I suppose cheap, petty, and selfish have become virtues like lying to today's pseudo-conservatives.

Considering the social programs we have now are in tatters, and in much need of new funding , sure it makes sense to start new ones that cost billions more so in the near future they to can be run down and in need of new funding....I mean why would we need to fix any of the existing programs we have just just start new social programs to keep there minds off the old stuff...

I guess it is the left that easily distracted...."squirrel", here is the nice new shinny program, the old programs, these are not the druids you looking for... move along...

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

Consider that we can only do one thing at a time is a main failure of conservative thinking.

We sure as hell won't "fix" anything by cutting back or lowering taxes on the wealthy.

There's no pharmacare and barely any Dental Care. Most of the dental care was already covered by provincial plans, and the farmer care is for diabetes and birth control, it's not pharmacare. And again most provinces covered at least Diabetes and some even covered birth Control.

And for this they created an infrastructure which is so expensive that had they just given everybody their own health care benefits package like most people get through work they could have afforded complete care coverage for those who needed it.

It's not only a joke, it's very expensive joke.

And people wouldn't need school lunches if you didn't take their money and jack inflation through the roof so that they couldn't afford to eat

He gave bc and Alberta the finger. And no western province was ever on side.  He was a disgusting socialist dictator of a person and Canada paid a horrible price economically for his ignorance and arrogance for the next decade.

Trudeau Snr had his walk in the snow.

In the late 1970s, Jack Horner had his walk across the floor.
