If so, it's akin to a rash.

If we toned done the volume on PC the Chuds and Foreign Agents would just turn it up on: climate change, trade, support for Ukraine.  An open forum that is essential to democracy also depends on people to focus on important things.  I think unisex washrooms aren't a bad idea but given our geopolitical threats I think that issue belongs on page ten of any daily paper that still exists...

I think the fact this (pretendian)  is going on is deplorable.

I am so very much against all we do and give to the indigenous already to have pretendian. around uninhibited pisses m off even more.

In my career I have been from one side of Canada to the other and from top to bottom (fortunately and unfortunately) and seen many many reservations. (nations , communities or whatever you want to call them) and know that everything they have is given to them by us.

Now we have pretendians. that we do not vet and give them important high paying positions too.  This should be a national issue , out in the open with media and Canadians completely pissed and demanding action to fine and imprison these peole.

The 'First Nations Financial Transparency Act'   (FNFTA) brought in by PM Stephen Harper was a good start in a long process.  Cancelled by Justin Trudeau in 2015 . . . .

May as well have been cancelled. The first nations were not complying anyway. They told Harper it is none of his business.

Well...if race doesn't matter as many people like to say, then you would have to be logically consistent and grant that it is irrelevant whether someone actually has any native ancestry.

Problem with what you say is that the jobs and positions were predesignated for indigenous and the pretendians lied about their "ancestry" and took the job. The secondary problem is we are too politically correct /non offensive to make them prove it.

How is that a problem? If ancestry doesn't matter then it doesn't matter. If that is what people believe then it makes no sense to promise anything to anyone over ancestry. Anyone can be indigenous no matter what their ancestry is. That is, of course, logically implied and I am just pointing out that it is the only way to be consistent.

Democracy in the public forum means people talk about what is important to them which may not be what you think is important.  Unisex bathrooms are no threat to you or I because we're men.   Women like Kimmy and Jk Rowling feel threatened by the idea of biological men in their private spaces and I respect that.

Political correctness supresses the truth and makes decision makers in society fearful to make certain decisions for fear of offending people even if it's the right decision.  It's more than a rash, it's a rot.

Some things are important to everyone, and if they're complicated or don't trigger angry fights then they don't get discussed.

Our information systems are not being used to inform an educated public, they're being used to distract and entertain.

But in the end isn't that about the user? The systems are set up just fine for information and education, i very frequently spend hours learning about all kinds of different issues from particle physics to cooking at a very high level for free.  But i think most people and even myself to  degree as evidenced by the time i spend here (which is probably less than people think but it's not nothing :) ) prefer to be entertained and distracted a lot of the time.

And for the average person that's probably all of the time.

The systems are adaptive - they configure themselves to naturally deliver what people want. I don't think you can fix the 'system' - i think it boils down to changing what people want and the systems would follow

"That which doesn't kill me...

Had better start running."
