Well it's only 24 percent so not really. But - i think the big difference is that if you pay a transit tax you get.... transit! There's an actual thing the transit tax buys that it's supposed to. We pay our carbon tax and we still have climate change. In fact nothing changed at all. We still have forest fires, heat waves etc - NOTHING got better and it's obvious nothing is GOING to get better. IF the money is just being collected and squandered (it is) then people don't like it. The government said it collected 22 bil in carbon taxes, lets not forget pst, HST on all of that...what a waste of time and effort, when we look at the results... Personally, I'm amazed we don't have more forrest fires so I took the liberty of discussing it at some length with the horse... it was one of those blow once for yes, twice for no conversations. He seems to think that forestry practices are a big issue and that tax increases don't fight forest fires. Then again, he tends to be more conservative than moderate. I'm working on that... People need that money from t increase to buy milk for their kids. To buy food for the families. I believe there is climate change. I also believe that there can be other ways than punishing me and my family with higher prices fr things that I need to live. Trudeau and his puppies keep saying we need to be made aware, well, we aware. To tax me and have the gall to say they are giving more back is, far and away, the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Are you going to tax the EV drivers or are they so climate pure and no need to tax them....yet they use all the same infrastructure the rest of us do?
