Do you really want to keep being shamed like this?? If so, you are proving my point.

EDIT: I am willing and pleased to call a truce.  Just stay away with your demeaning, belittlement, insults and rhetoric..

Oh, and I don't sit and wait for you to come up with another useless post. You should take advantage of the olive branch offered but it seems you are too much of a loser to accept it.

The gst and pst on top is something that most people seem to gloss over. It was estimated to be worth 190 million in bc and alberta ALONE per year just for the gst and that's when the tax was lower - which puts it close to the billions nationally now. And none of that is getting rebated.

But that also doesn't include the extra costs of the fuel that include the carbon taxes to produce the fuel and truck it to the gas station.  SO there's even MORE carbon tax baked into the price before you pay the carbon tax on it and then the other tax on the tax.

It's tax on tax on tax on tax, and it's no wonder everything is more expensive

Why aren't they rioting and throwing horse shit at the politicians over the Transit Tax, it's even higher that the total Carbon Tax is even now.

Well it's only 24 percent so not really.  But - i think the big difference is that if you pay a transit tax you get.... transit! There's an actual thing the transit tax buys that it's supposed to.

We pay our carbon tax and we still have climate change. In fact nothing changed at all. We still have forest fires, heat waves etc - NOTHING got better and it's obvious nothing is GOING to get better.

IF the money is just being collected and squandered (it is) then people don't like it.

You are a loser in all aspects.

You do not have the ability to be civil. You are unable to discuss with anyone without insult and belittlement.  You display arrogance beyond description. You have no life except on this forum. You cannot accept a truce when civilly offered because your incapable of being normal. Clearly an inbred dick.

Yes, you are loser is every aspect.

You have wasted far too much of my and others time. Even AI is tired of calling you out. LOL  By far, the biggest assface on the forums. Cannot civilly discuss anything with anyone. You can now comfortably slide back up PP's A$$ where you came from. Just a turd sliding out of  PP's butt. LOL

A true assface. All the photos and images I posted are exactly you.

Paying a carbon tax didn't make climate change go away.

Repeating it over and over with as many voices as possible doesn't make that an intelligent rebuttal.

It does show others the Dunning-Kruger effect is very real.

It's an intelligent rebuttal the first time it was said by anyone.  Cry babying doesn't change that. It is a 100 percent legitimate point.  If it's not changing anything - why the hell are we doing it.

LOL  ok there robosmith :)
What it shows is that the left gets entirely butthurt when yet another completely bullshit woke social experiment of theirs gets blown up.

And you were TOLD this would happen.  And told NOT to do it because if you did then by the time people were sick of it they'd be sick of paying for climate change "Solutions" in general and you'd have blown your chance.

But noooooo - you've got to vote to keep the libs in power despite the fact they've done nothing but lie on the climate change issue.  !diot.

Say it again. And again as if it's relevant to the intent the carbon tax.

LOL - pretend it isn't again and again and again - it won't change the truth.

What kind of brain damaged retarded dolt do you have to be to think that the fact that the carbon tax doesn't work isn't relevant to the discussion of whether we should have a carbon tax? It's the ONLY thing that's relevant.  Otherwise why are we doing this?

Man - the left is coming apart so fast these days people are getting hit by the shrapnel :)

You keep mouthing the same story over and over again...Show us where the liberals climate change policies have made a difference in attaining our climate change goals...Even eyeball will tell you it is a failure.....Why is it that our emissions are climbing not shrinking...

The liberals plan is not working as advertised, in fact it has failed on so many levels...why are you not chirping about it's failures, becasue your like most on the left, and are satisfied that there is even a fake carbon price in place, it makes you sleep at night...when in reality it does very little and fails in every category, laid out by our international agreements...

You sir are part of the problem , and only conclusion that could come of your actions is you don't really believe in climate change except to come on here and chirp...don't worry you fit in with most Canadians you like to point fingers but don't want to put in the work or pay for it...all today's policies do is punish those that can not afford it...

I get that, today more than 1/2 the price is taxes, no longer at 35 % but more like 50% or more...lets not forget the other new taxes, like clean fuel taxes, etc...

The government said it collected 22 bil in carbon taxes, lets not forget pst, HST on all of that...what a waste of time and effort, when we look at the results...

It's not just the tendency of people with no knowledge or ability to overestimate their possession of both qualities. The other side of the Dunning -Kruger effect suggests that people who actually do have skills, knowledge or even common sense will tend to underestimate it in the face of incompetent leaders (or peers) who are totally unaware of their own incompetence.

Sometimes turning a thing on its head or looking at a single element of a sweeping agenda offers perspective on the whole. Say forest fires for example.

They are the darling of climate activists everywhere but thus far, paying the carbon tax hasn't had any effect on them. It certainly has made it more expensive for people to get to work or even stay warm on their days off though.

So I'm curious, would raising the tax to levels of stratospheric absurdity (a liberal SOP now) improve the situation?

I recall reading an assessment by the UN (some time ago) that suggested a carbon tax of $300 per ton was required to provide a sufficient level of deterrence against using the "dirty" energy subject to taxation. The effect of doing that would certainly be huge on our economy but would it have the desired effect?

Could we logically assume that forest fires would decrease because of it?

If you've never ridden a horse along a logging road and observed the amount of tinder dry residue left behind after clear cutting you might be surprised.

Personally, I'm amazed we don't have more forrest fires so I took the liberty of discussing it at some length with the horse... it was one of those blow once for yes, twice for no conversations.

He seems to think that forestry practices are a big issue and that tax increases don't fight forest fires. Then again, he tends to be more conservative than moderate. I'm working on that...

I can not find any evidence of "more the 1/2 the price is taxes".

This is from Aug 2023. It does nto include the recent 3.3 cent carbon tax increase.

"The CTF’s Gas Tax Honesty Report shows that taxes make up 32 per cent of the pump price in Ontario, which works out to about 52 cents per litre. "   https://www.taxpayer.com/newsroom/news-release-hidden-gas-taxes-drive-up-pump-prices-in-ontario-report

The governments (feds and provincial) have always taxed the begeezus out of gasoline. What we are talking about is the 3 cents per litre that was added on April 1.

I , like you and the rest of Canada are very much anti carbon tax.

Evidence does not matter to people who refuse to believe it.
Even if they do, the accepted 1% reduction figure of the carbon tax will be pooh-poohed as insignificant. These are people who've decided that Canada's overall contribution is insignificant so why even make an effort.
They need the money from that increase to buy a coffee with their fillup

Canada does not have a overall contribution that makes any difference at all.

People need that money from t increase to buy milk for their kids. To buy food for the families.

I believe there is climate change. I also believe that there can be other ways than punishing me and my family with higher prices fr things that I need to live.

Trudeau and his puppies keep saying we need to be made aware, well, we aware. To tax me and have the gall to say they are giving more back is, far and away, the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Are you going to tax the EV drivers or are they so climate pure and no need to tax them....yet they use all the same infrastructure the rest of us do?
