My Goodness, the world hasn't come to an end!

Memories of Y2K.

I was laughing last night when CBC media (from the East primarily) seemed genuinely upset by our new Gov.

Many journalists conveyed a less than positive slant to their "non-partisan" responsabilities, suggesting that the Liberals just needed a time-out to regroup and take Canada by storm again?.........soon.

Mr. Martins immediate resignation was precisely what I'd suspected in this circumstance aswell. He came across (to me) as a spoiled little brat during his tennure. Well he now comes across as being a spoiled little brat that can't stand to lose. "How dare the little people of Canada treat me this way".

Well, I'm glad he's gone and that woman that squaked like a parrot too (deputy prime minister).

As long as Harper doesn't spend too much time under "Dubuya's" desk, all is well in Canada.

Didn't seem to me like CBC was partisan. Maybe our own partisan interests determine that perception. Like the way the left feels the media is owned and controlled by the right, and the right thinks that the media is biased to the left.

The editor of one of the papers (can't remember which one) endorsed the Conservatives before the election.

If big business tends to favour the right, then private-only radio's going to respond to their ownership and advertising dollars, we need a public media.

CBC is the best radio in Canada, I hope it stays!!

Ideas, Quirks and Quarks, CBC overnight etc.

He'll improve Canada-U.S. relations I sincerely hope.

CBC is just worried (and I hope rightly so) about losing their leftist funding from the Libs. I mean, they want to continue making shows about Canadians never use the term "indian" and how Americans don't know what date squares are...

BTW: CBC really tried to help the Liberal during HNIC. I mean, it was bad enough the Habs were losing and then during every commercial break CBC kept playing those disgusting Liberal negative ads...

I agree. I found the Liberal ads ridiculously melodramatic, and (along with every other major party's campaign) far too negative. I am 18 and this was my first chance to vote --- I know for me, I didn't want to hear why I shouldn't vote for someone, I wanted to hear why I should vote for someone.

Good call Trudeau, and welcome. I don't know if we need another Trudeau around, but we'll take ya. ;)

No Canadians wanted to hear why they shouldn't vote for people, not just the youth vote.

Fair response.

I think they were disingenuous and actually quite distasteful...I know people who didn't vote Liberal because of them.

I cringed at the ads, terrible - I absolutely loved 22 Minutes (or was it Rick Mercer's show), the way they made fun of them! Hilarious!

Welcome Trudeau, he was a great PM! Stephen Harper was even a fan until the Energy program.

BullShit. I flipped through all of the various outlets here and no one was showing bias towards any party or candidate.

Feel free to post something to back this up, otherwise I'll just assume it is the typical lies of bias

No doubt. Remember all their glum faces when Saddam was dragged out of that hole in the ground?

The CBC is a radical leftwing news source. When they were on strike, the website they created (cbcunclocked.com) was a treasure trove of info into the mindset of the CBC. Links to radicals like Michael Moore and Ted Rall, and one reporter from Regina gave her Gold Star Of The Day to Kanye West "for telling the world what we already knew; George Bush hates black people". Incredibly they had the gall to announce on their homepage that they were dedicated to fair and balanced reporting. Yeah right. Fox News, they are not.

From cropped cartoons of Harper giving a Nazi salute to enviromental fearmonger David Suzuki endorsing a NDP candidate (a violation of the CBC rules), the CBC is anti-American, Israel, business, and free markets. They are pro-UN, displaced Arabian (Palestinian), huge govt, greedy socialists, they CBC continues to be an embarrassment to Canada.

Would you dare to report anything negative about the Liberal Party, knowing that you probably just kissed your chance of being Governor General good-bye?

There is no reason for a free society to have state-run TV. That is for dictatorships and banana republics.

Calm down. Everything will be okay, as long as you can duck those military checkpoints that Harper has set up in our cities.

Btw, for $4.87 you can order this beautiful poster that will cheer you up whenever you are feeling :(

She isn't bad looking I'll tell you that...

CBC is extremely left-wing and anti-American. I will never forget when they had a whole show about how Canadians are different from Americans because Americans don't know what date squares are. (obviously paid for by our tax dollars... )

I went down to Plattsburgh and there they are, selling date squares... Plattsburgh...threatening Canadian sovereignty!!!

Ann Coulter is nasty, on sooooo many levels. Her views are reprehensible, self-centered and childish.

Here is a very interesting column, albeit not very politically correct, by a U.S. leftie on Salon.com.

Salon.com Coulter article...

I am not sexually attracted to her Shoop...

She is one of those people who could do a job on you though (no pun intended there... ;) )

I was surprised to see that the world didn't end on Tues. morning. I was expecting to be greeted by soldiers with guns in the streets and US flags flying on all the govt. buildings.

BTW did anyone catch the vitriolic responses of Rosie O'Donell and Michael Moore to the win.... Gotta love the "tolerant" left.

Sorry shoop. I got through "1) Stop injecting yourself with your own urine" but couldn't go any further, not after reading the other item headings on the first page. I'm not a big fan of Coulter (she's occasionally good for a laugh, with a grain of salt) but I couldn't read this. It was catty and superficial, which is appropriate for Coulter, but unlike her it wasn't funny at all. The guy could have at least been original. I heard most of these "humorous" suggestions aimed at Kate Moss a decade ago.

He's not sworn in until Feb 6, so don't be too sure we soon won't be singing the Star Spangled Banner and producing passports on demand of armed Canadian National Guardsmen...I mean, it must be going to happen because the left has been telling us so for years!!

FTA

P.S. Heil Harper!

I have listened to CBC radio for decades and yes it has some great programs but it is anything but balanced.

Perhaps you can name some right of centre commentators. After all to be balanced there should be just as many left wing as right commentators, right. I think it should be sold and run the way the PBS is run in the states.
