"Does the President have the authority to grant “administrative relief” to undocumented Americans — i.e., to temporarily delay their deportation without granting them a permanent legal immigration status (such as a green card or citizenship)? This issue brief summarizes the constitutional, legal, and historical grounds for the president’s authority to grant administrative relief."

And we've already seen Biden's interpretation of the President's role which is yet another reason to kick the hair sniffer to the curb.

Yes, but this discretion does not act in the opposite direction.  Thats the problem. The President does not have to right to deny due process to illegal immigrants, for instance.  He cannot instantly deport an undocumented individual, which is ridiculous in my opinion.

The only due process for illegal immigrants should be deportation or prison.

Due process for all other immigrants can be handled in secure areas ON the border. In other words, you wait on THAT side of the border until your court date which will be in a secure area ON the border.

LEGALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT TRUMP  had the right idea. Let the migrants WAIT IN MEXICO for their day in court. None of this swimming the Rio Grande and getting welfare schitt.

maybe you should learn more about "stay in Mexico". like 1) Mexico says no 2) Biden knew that the policy was a loser in the courts... and had been a loser in the courts up until the time that they pulled it down. Even Trump wouldn't have made it stick.

Remain in Mexico

more proof... none of the GOP bring it up as a solution.

It's either that or stay in a secured area on the border until your court date. I'm fine with either option.

democrats trip over themselves to please illegal aliens.

New York is trying to make it so they can vote in local elections, that is why they are pushing Biden to give them work permits sooner. Part of their "letting immigrants vote" bill is it specifically states that it is those under DACA, Those with Green Cards and those with work permits.

Biden literally had to go to court quite a bit to get it removed. Mexico was fine with it, biden was the one who took it out of existence.

As to why the reps don't propose it - they HAD it.  Biden worked tirelessly to DISMANTLE it.  What the hell would be the point in proposing something the other guy already busted his ass getting rid of, what chance would it have?

Had better start running."

Nope. Born in Dallas Texas. I'm an American.

My grandfather was an IMMIGRANT. (For the blue state uneducated dumbass crowd, that means a person who waited in line and LEGALLY emigrated to America.)

I have no problem with LEGAL IMMIGRANTS. They are WELCOME in America, as long as they come here speaking English and have job skills. They are a good fit for this country .

The animals swimming the Rio Grande need to be deported and barbed wire needs to line the banks of that river where those animals try to cross.

It's something to work on, that's for sure. The point is to keep them out of the country until they have the proper documents.

i agree. so give the president the authority to do so now? the senate GOP has stated that Dems will have no desire to take this up after 2024. if Trump saddles the Dems with this now then they will saddle it with him later.

which kinda proves a point. that Trump doesn't care about that calculus. he just needs to get in office to cool his legal problems. he's already stated that thats why he is running. he did so at his running announcement.

1. You don't agree. You want the bill passed so that democrats can have 5k illegals pouring in every month and you want more funding for Ukraine, which is unacceptable on both counts. My concern is Trump not doing enough to stave off the illegal immigration problem.

2. It doesn't prove any point. Trump wouldn't have all these legal problems if he wasn't running for President. The witch hunt is the real problem.
