Well - sort of.  I  have to say i know a number of gay and lesbian couples where there's a kid from 'before'.  Obviously only one is the bio parent but hell today that's not uncommon for a lot of kids, the 'dad' who raises them is mom's second hubby.

And I don't think a couple adopting a kid makes them any LESS of a parent. I have an adopted sibling, i would take exception to the idea that somehow they didn't count as a 'having a child'.

But we don't really teach all this stuff in detail to kids - and i don't think we should at age 9. They don't need to know the complexities of sexual relationships or single parenting or gay couples etc. And if their parents think they do then great, teach 'em at home

Kids learn all this stuff off the Internet anyways. The school debate is just silly to me. I knew what trans was at age 9, and the Internet wasn't nearly as big back in the 90s as it is now.

Well the thing is - there's nothing to stop the parents from providing whatever info they want.  They can best guage the emotional maturity level of their child and give them that information as they deem appropiate.

Schools are supposed to be about "Everyone NEEDS to know [this]".  Math. spelling. geography etc.  It's the base knowledge we all need to have to build on.  We do NOT need to know about sexuality at a young age.  Sex ed may be appropriate in early teens but 9 year olds, not so much. And the complexities of sexual relationships or gender is probably a little early there as well.

Teach your kids appropriately, and leave elementary school for the basics.

Hell the environment's collapsing, you can't get a decent paying job, you can't afford a house and food prices are skyrocketing. Russia's invading other countries, China's trying to steal Asia's water, the Norks are building nukes and rockets aimed specifically at you, India's making all the advancements in space, "American" cars are built in Mexico...

But you'll back Trump and DeSantis because they'll ensure no queer will ever shit in the same room as you have to. You know what's really important.

"Countries"? What other countries has Russia invaded lately besides Ukraine? Just asking.

Well.... maybe not invaded but i think he just bought north Korea.  I mean sure - it's the 'old kent road' from monopoly on the global scene but still.

And NATO just bought off Sweden or Finland. I cannot remember which one it was for now. NATO is trying to heat up the cold war against Russia. There can be no doubt about it that this proxy war going on in Ukraine is to try and goad Russia into a war with NATO. NATO always needs a bogeyman country to try and invade and take over.

As you say conservatives supposedly are the ones who believe in maximum freedom….maybe just maybe some in Smith’s camp feel that laws from the provincial capital imposed on local schools whether they like it not isn’t freedom.

There's a difference between conservatives and libertarians. The most hardcore libertarians want to do crazy things like abolish driver's licenses and legalizing the sale of marijuana to children. Conservatives believe small government can work with the people, not no government. There has been little actual evidence supporting any benefits to giving kids irreversible changes to their bodies, and many come to regret it deeply later on. Adults do have the right to mutilate their bodies. The people who don't are the children. Leave them out of this. Conservatism is not hardcore libertarianism, please learn the difference.

I assume you guys can't even use Google to look things up as it's all fake news and MSM lies.

And believe "uniting all Russian speaking areas" is entirely different than "uniting all Germanic speakers" was.

Everything today is all fake MSM news. Hello? ?

It is common for people to make the mistake of thinking that because conservatives prefer less or fairly minimal gov't interference in things that some how they're libertarians, who want NO gov't interference in ANYTHING.
