DeSantis fundraises for Daniel Penny, who faces manslaughter charges in Jordan Neely death

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is fundraising for New York City Marine veteran Daniel Penny, who faces criminal charges for the death of Jordan Neely, a homeless man who witnesses and prosecutors say had been "making threats and scaring people" on the subway.

Penny, 24, was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court Friday and faces charges of second-degree manslaughter after he put Neely in a fatal chokehold. Lawyers for the defense argue Penny acted to protect himself and other passengers who were being threatened.

DeSantis on Friday shared a fundraiser for Penny's legal defense, calling him a "Good Samaritan" and criticizing Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg as a "pro-criminal" and "Soros-Funded" prosecutor.

Before any of you Nazis get on your soap box about a politician raising funds for someone wrongly accused of a crime, remember that your DemoNazi party raised funds for THESE animals.

So you have to ask yourself where the priorities are? One Marine put down an animal and saved the lives of a bunch of passengers.

A BUNCH of animals looted, committed MURDER, RIOTED and burned down BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES.

Who has the moral high ground here?

Our favourite troll posts another example of Florida's ignoroid Governor standing up for someone who killed as some sort of hero.

Hard to read reaon10's post history and conclude that there are any Samaritans or even decent people in the USA and that the country is anything but a blight on the planet.
Told you he was a Russian troll.

Based on what I've heard about this case, I believe Daniel Penny should not be charged with anything. It seems like the other passengers that were being threatened by this guy (40+ prior arrests) were relieved that Penny subdued him.

He wasn't just a harmless Michael Jackson impersonator as the media makes him out to be.

"The media" reported it, so you don't f***ing believe it.

Well believe this, if you kill someone, intentional or not, you've committed manslaughter. If the guy can prove he threatened immediate threat to his or anyone elses life, he won't be convicted.

Get out of reason10's fantasy world where you should celebrate killing of people for the thinnest of excuses.

If Penny took him down and held him in place, I would agree. But Penny choked Neely for 15 minuets straight. This is just like Derek Chauvin crushing George Floyd's neck long after he was already rendered harmless.

The fact that DeSantis, an elected official, is siding with him is absolutely deranged. But this is part of the modern Right. Homeless people don't have a right to life.

I take it you were ok when Kamala Harris was openly raising funds to bail out violent Antifa/BLM rioters though?

What was the politically correct course of action when this deranged man was threatening everyone on that train?

Our favorite Downs Syndrome EXTRA CHROMOSOME poster once gain gets it wrong. And this cretin even doesn't understand the meaning of the word Troll.

What's REALLY clinically stupid is assuming Russia would actually hire trolls to come to pissant political message boards. Some people were just plain born without brains.

HEY, FELLA. TELL US WHY THAT PERSON THE MARINE WAS DEFENDING DESERVED TO DIE, CREEP.

Taking him down and putting him in a hold was fine. Choking him out was wrong, especially for fifteen minutes. You don't have the right to choke someone to death because they look at you wrong.

I wouldn't want to have been in the shoes of any of those people being threatened by Neely. Does he have a knife or gun? At the time, who knows? Is he hopped up on drugs? Who knows? Penny and others apparently put him in the recovery position after he stopped fighting back. And keep in mind, Neeley was not simply "looking at them wrong", he was actively threatening the people around him.

Your idea that all someone had to do was simply hold him is easy to say when you weren't there. It's like those fools on The View saying police should always just shoot suspects in the leg. Much easier said than done.

Excuse me? Making threats? That's how you define "looking at someone wrong?"

So it's okay to come into your house and threaten your family? And you have NO RIGHT to stop it?
