Boges Posted January 4, 2023 Report Posted January 4, 2023 Kevin McCarthy doesn't have the votes! 20 MAGA far-right loonies refuse to vote for him so the House cant sit. In all honesty the 190 or so "RINO'S" in the GOP that aren't bound by MAGA ideology will find more in common with the Dems than this caucus of crazy's. Losing the House couldn't have turned out any better for the Dems. Quote
Boges Posted January 4, 2023 Author Report Posted January 4, 2023 NM Elected on the Fourth Ballot. Quote

He already agreed that only 5 members can call to remove the speaker, and last I heard they were demanding he remove all the powers of the ethics committee. Quote

Boges Posted January 5, 2023 Author Report Posted January 5, 2023 I was wrong. He's still being stonewalled. No end in sight. These 20 Congressmen basically want the power to shut down the government if they don't get their way. This tactic will actually move Congress to the Left as, whoever gets elected speaker, will need Dem support to get most things passed. 1 Quote

Losing the House couldn't have turned out any better for the Dems. There is no such thing as a MAGA far right loony. MAGA types work jobs and pay taxes so you can get your welfare checks every month. What we are seeing is historic human drama unfolding. At some point, McCarthy (who made his own bed by voting with Nazi Pelosi) will have to sign papers including the Freedom Caucus in pretty much every House decision, since the Freedom Caucus makes up most of America. McCarthy will have to move more to the right (towards the center) to get the acceptance of MOST OF AMERICA who basically flipped the House from the Nazis to Republicans. I look at the bright side. NONE of the members of the House are able to vote, pass any tax increases or any further encroachments on our liberty and our economy until there is a Speaker, because THEY CANNOT BE SWORN IN. America is getting a nice little break from Nazi government while Republicans get it together. I'm not surprised by this at all. Republicans are the most independent thinkers in America. Hell, we can't even agree on lunch. Democrats are goose stepping NAZIS who will fall in line at ANY funny looking leader with a mustache. Freedom and liberty are messy. We have to pay a price for our ability to live our lives without the jack boots of the DemoNazis on our throats. I'm in NO hurry to see this played out. When it IS resolved, maybe these Republicans can reverse the Obama/Biden Fourth Reich and fix our economy, as well as our leaking borders. 1 1 1 Quote
Boges Posted January 6, 2023 Author Report Posted January 6, 2023 So the goal is pure anarchy? Paralyze the political system. For perspective sake there are 20 of 400+ members holding up the entire process. That is not representative of America. It's a small fringe that's holding the rest hostage. And who will be hurt by all this. It's the GOP members from swing districts that won by narrow margins. Lauren Boebert could be considered amongst them. No way she wins another General election after this. 2 Quote
Nationalist Posted January 7, 2023 Report Posted January 7, 2023 It's about 9:30 pm est. In a hh they reconvene. McCarthy now needs to eliminate 2 votes either by changing votes or...by a change in the math due to absenteeism. One thing is for sure. McCarthy has made quite a number of concessions in order to get the votes he has now. These concessions undo the changes Pelosi made in order to consolidate power to herself. Unfortunately for Democrats, while they celebrate this process and call it a failure for Republicans, the results of this will drive the Republicans further towards draining the swamp. These "Freedom Caucus" people will get positions on important commitees. The resulting output will be stiff, loud, conservative and...decisive. Not really anything any Libbie is gonna enjoy watching happen. Quote Its so lonely in m'saddle since m'horse died.

You apparently don't read anything or watch anything other than THE VIEW. Here's the Republican agenda for America from the House: https://nypost.com/2022/11/12/gop-house-agenda-immigration-budget-and-hunter-biden/ If they manage it, the GOP will have the power to hamstring President Biden’s legislative agenda for the next two years, tamp down his spending, and investigate his administration, the Biden family, and even the chief executive himself. “Now we have to deliver,” said Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), pointing to the party’s “Commitment to America” election platform that promised to expand domestic energy production, repeal the 87,000-agent expansion of the IRS, and probe Biden’s Justice Department and the origins of COVID-19. Immigration and border security — which this week’s Golden/TIPP poll cited as the main concern of 38% of those surveyed, including 21% of Democrats — will likely be at the top of the Republican to-do list if they nail down the win.
