I lived outside the Edmonton base for 17 years and have a LOT of military and ex-military friends. There's a maturity/wisdom level definitely missing here.

BTW, I spent 8 years at CFB Edmonton in the SAR Squadron. I suspect with your attitude and demeaner, you may have known military but they avoided you :)
