Majority of Canadians are in favour of our current immigration system

Also, just point out, the idea that OHIP is unlimited and you can't be denied insurance is a false claim.

My father had cancer, he was denied the surgery, which is the same rescission as any other insurance denial.

Canada's great socialist public healthcare system is a big lie.

Millions of Canadians have no doctor right now, IIRC five million in Ontario alone.

A little disingenuous to post this!  Over 17% of the US adult population has no medical insurance, while the Canadians who have no doctor can still go to medical clinics and be covered by OHIP!

OHIP will not save you.   Nobody gets out of life alive, the statistic on death is 100%

Those 17% of Americans don't want medical insurance. You crying about them exercising their freedom of choice is just silly.

OHIP is better than being among the 17% of Americans with no medical insurance!  According to a CDC report: 45,000 Americans die each year cause of lack of medical care....everything from untreated tumors, heart attacks, untreated diabetes to septic infections from abscessed teeth. This is 3rd world level statistics!

Yet the 17% still don't want insurance. Just because they made a choice you don't like doesn't mean it wasn't their choice. You want to offer them a chance to buy into a public option, that they might prefer over private insurance, go ahead, but doing away with private insurance is flat out retarded.

Don't want it OR can't afford it?

Only good thing Trump did was remove the penalties on the uninsured!

Offer them a public option if you want, no need to scrap private insurance like Sanders or Warren want, because they know that many people won't voluntarily give up their private insurance for government breadline health care.

So I was told, Warren is not calling for an end of private medical insurance.

Yes she is. Even a bunch of Democrats are ripping into her over it. The biggest difference between Warren and Sanders medicare for all plan, is that he admits to raising taxes on the middle class to implement it, and Warren refuses to admit it, knowing that doing so will hurt her chance of being elected. They both want to scrap private insurance entirely, because they claim private insurance is too expensive so that justifies taking away their right to choose to buy it.

It's all just pandering, they have no chance of getting any this commie nonsense passed in America, what is not shot down by congress, will be shot down by the judiciary.

And next these Bernie Bros will blow the Democrats up, so Bad Orange Man can swap ACB for RBG and Six to Three, yeehaw.

The difference between a 6-3 Democrat SCOTUS majority, and a 6-3 Republican SCOTUS majority, was the 2016 election. Such a pivotal turning point for America, and the right side won.

The leftists are playing checkers while the right is playing chess, no legislation is secure, all that matters is the SCOTUS for imposing your agenda now.

Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell will go down as Republican heroes for locking up the SCOTUS for decades to come.

Don't forget the Bernie Bros, they are the ones who brought the Democrats down

And the Bernie Bros are gonna get what they deserve, which is to be crushed by Gorsuch & Co for generations to come.

They did help Trump by dragging Clinton to the left, making it easier to take the center, but Trump probably would have won regardless. So they get less credit than Trump and McConnell, but thanks for sealing the deal Bernie Bros, much appreciated.

Yeah, but they're doubling down, they are propping Trump up with their tranny communism all over again.

Because Trump is the greatest troll ever. Trump Derangement Syndrome is a helluva drug and it's leading the Democrats to naively believe that the main reason they lost in 2016 is because of Hilary Clinton, hence deluding themselves into thinking a further left candidate would do better, which is why they are embracing the Bernie Bros even more than in 2016.

1. Authoritarian Marxist is a contradiction in terms; since the goal of Marxism is collective rule by workers and farmers...who made up a large percentage of the general population in 20th century Russia and China.

Maybe it was aspirational in that way but it has NEVER worked out that way. All Marxist oriented governments are and have been authoritarian. And the ones in the West seem pretty authoritarian and intolerant as well.

2.  ALLLL the street gangs are immigrants! Except in my city (Hamilton) apparently. Cities that have high levels of gang activity also have huge gaps in income and wealth.....wonder if that's any part of the equation.

I should have added all street gangs other than natives, which are mainly in the West, though also in northern Ontario. What are the street gangs of Hamilton made up of?
As to the causes, of course, they're partly socio-economic, partly cultural. If you were born and raised in an atmosphere of violence and corruption,k where you did anything it took to survive, and you find yourself in Canada, then it's much more likely you'll wind up being involved in crime than if you come from a more peaceful culture.

The charts on this page that have near complete information from all provinces shows that immigrants who have been in Canada over 5 years, mostly have lower unemployment rates than native Canadians.

That is not what they appear to show. They show that for 1-5 years they have a significantly higher unemployment rate, the same rate from years 5-10, adn then a higher rate from 10-on. Immigrants with degrees also have a significantly higher unemployment rate than Canadian born.

No, the reason for the decline and rising costs of health care is excessive treatment, drugs and testing. I told my doctor, the last time I was in, if I'm feeling good and still able to work out and do all the things I like to do, I'll wait until I start feeling sick before I check in for a whole battery of tests, age or not!

I don't know. I remember thirty odd years ago going to the basically empty ER at 3AM, walking in, sitting with the intake nurse, and being shown directly to an exam room to have a cut on my chin looked at. Then I went to X-ray, no waiting, back to the exam room, to have a few stitches up, and was out the door in thirty minutes. The last time I went to ER at 3AM in terrible pain from my back they told me it would be a minimum 6hr wait. Same hospital.

So what's changed?

Yes, there should be some strings attached with immigration...like sending new immigrants to less populated regions of the country would be a good idea.

When it comes to adjusting, one good Tory idea I was glad it got killed, was a notion to extend school funding dollars to religious and private schools a few years back.

I remember that campaign. I didn't agree with the proposal either, but I was still amazed at the degree to which the Liberals stopped in basically shrieking from every corner that this would lead to Islamist terrorist training schools. Oddly, they paid no political price for this with progressives.
