Arguing with folks who think WW2 started when Poland invaded Germany.

Actually it started after that good olde fashioned fear of the left compelled conservatives to side with a monster.  A lot of that still going on to this day.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

People can do whatever they want, including adhere to whatever religion they want, as long as they do not expect any kind of change in behaviour by anyone else.  I have no problem with someone hating homosexuals, for instance, as long as no-one else is affected by it.

How would you feel if you were a homosexual and almost everyone in your neighborhood and on your street hated homosexuals, and the government said "You know what we need in this country, more people who hate homosexuals!" and brought in more as immigrants who hate homosexuals?

National Socialism was Left Wing. Just not as Left Wing as the Commies.

And you would have sided with Hitler, no surprise there. Why you give your uncle such a bad rap is a bit of a mystery.

I don't care what people hate, so long as they don't act on it.  I think people ought to be able to hate whatever they want.

If any of the immigrants were to act on their hatred, I'd be happy with their deportation.

So you'll be content to have them deported after they beat you to a pulp, and show no concern as the government brings in tens of thousands more?

Aren't they? Has Islam suddenly become gay friendly? Are Islamic attitudes towards Jews gonna change now that Islam plans to dominate Canada?

We need to make an important distinction here.

Criticizing an institution (be it religious or socio-political) has nothing to do with the adherents of that institution. It is actually the bigots who conflate the two. Criticizing Islam does not necessarily indicate that one is likewise criticizing Muslims as people. It is only individuals who can't tell the difference that insist they are being "insulted". Trying to equate criticizing a socio-political institution with "racism" is bigotry - no matter what mental gymnastics one attempts to employ.

Now of course Muslims or Muslim apologists (neo-liberals or "pluralists") may take offense to the criticism, but that is only because they identify themselves with that institution (or apologize for those that do) and feel it is "politically incorrect", or to a more bigoted extent, "racist". This is their own complex; not the one criticizing the institution. You see this in the left all over the place nowadays, and indeed on this very thread.

Islam is not a race, and there is a distinction between a religious and/or socio-political institution as an ideological construct in and of itself, and adherents of them.

Are we suggesting punishment for thought crime, here?  Or did I not make myself clear?

People can hate whatever, whoever they want.  I don't care.  In fact, I support their right to do so, even unto being against hate crime legislation.

The common attack of the Leftist idiot is to yell 'racist' and hope it sticks.

Is that like calling everyone you disagree with a 'leftist', or an 'idiot', etc.

Such thinking is luxury. Enjoy it while you can.

Really? I find that speaking one's mind is getting more difficult. Not less.

That being said...this place gets busy when I appear. A good thing. Plus I'm back on top...where I belong. Such dull grey lives...

Are you coming out of the closet?

National Socialism is as far right wing as it gets. Using a label to change the meaning is also extreme right wing, we saw it then and we it see it continually today.

I don't disagree, but I would be against such restrictions, which accounts for my opinion there.

It certainly did, there's no denying that.

National...of the Nation

Socialism...group think.

Not right wing as per the French Revolution...which is where we get the terms.

I rest my case.
