As I said before, all problems solved if American policies were more Canadian.  I love the US, but I don’t feel nearly as safe down there.  It’s not just about more gun control.  It’s about having a more equitable society, so that people don’t feel as desperate or lost.  Too many lonely, frustrated, and angry people.  Canada isn’t immune but has more protections.

So why do you think so many Canadians own or rent residential properties in the United States ?    Certainly far more than Americans do in Canada based on population.

It's a natural thing to feel "safer" back home....I never felt "safe" in Canada the few time I visited in the 80's, including a military port (CFB Esquimalt).

The key to understanding Canada, is that Canada is essentially Victorian.

VRI, Victoria is Mother Canada.

It is frozen in the 19th Century.

So whatever cultural rules you would assume to be in place in 1885, that's about where Canada is, forever and ever, it never actually changes.

Canada no 1 in the world for education and personal freedoms.

Maybe you shouldnt make statements so easily disproven. Perhaps a little less verbiage and a little  more thought next time.

We like the warm weather and the dynamism of big cities, so we overlook the downsides.  I’m happy up here but enjoy getting out of the winter for a bit. Love New York too and some unique things.  Of course. NASA, Disney, Monument Valley.  So much.

See...that's the thing...you take the good with the bad, just like many millions of other nationals.   Mali has nice warm weather too.

I do like the laws in Florida, but I don't like property in the path of hurricanes, so I'd probably go with Nevada.

Plus I like the desert more than the swamp.  If I need the ocean I could drive to California.

Oh, they like it a lot more than that...voraciously consuming American "content" and using American social media platforms even when they go back home to freeze.

I consume a voracious amount of Canadian content as well, I just don't need a nanny CRTC nor a billion dollar a year CBC to do it.

Because we all know that the Canadian government tries to protect Canadians from the American content they really want.

If you read some history you woukd  learn that every empire including the Roman Empire had great people that built that empire. They also had those that were responsible for destroying that empire. Today you have the latter not the former,
