Agreed.

Putting Saudi Arabia on the UN Human Rights Council was just insane.

Quote

Saudi Arabia has strongly resisted all accountability measures, the two groups said. After threatening to withdraw funding from critical UN programs, Saudi Arabia in June compelled the UN secretary-general to remove the coalition from his “List of Shame” for killing and maiming children and attacking schools and hospitals in Yemen. In 2015, Saudi Arabia used its position on the Human Rights Council, aided by its allies, to obstruct the creation of an independent international investigation into alleged violations by all sides. Neither Saudi Arabia nor a national Yemeni commission of inquiry has carried out credible investigations into coalition attacks that may have been laws-of-war violations. Allowing Saudi Arabia to obstruct independent scrutiny and avoid accountability threatens the credibility of both the Human Rights Council and the General Assembly, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International said.

Since Saudi Arabia joined the Human Rights Council in January 2014, its crackdown on all forms of dissent at home has continued unabated, executions have surged, and discrimination against women and the Saudi Shia minority community remains systematic and entrenched.

Is not it interesting that Sweden was the only country who opposes US's counter attack to Assad regime and yesterday a "truck attack" is happened in Sweden and civilians are murdered ?

Yes. Sweden has been leading the world in bringing in Muslims. Yet they are also attacked?

Now Sweden will have to react and then the extremists will say to all the Muslims, "Look! Sweden hates Muslims too!" and the vortex of terrorism will continue.

I wish more Muslims would wake up and realize they are being just as betrayed, just as "used" by ISIS and all the other extremists as Westerners are.

Until that happens, Muslims will become radicalized no matter where they are living.

EU foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini urged the international community to press ahead with Syria peace talks at the Syrian aid conference in Brussels.

According to her statement, it has become even more urgent after a suspected chemical weapons attack left more than 70 dead in a rebel-held town.

“We need to give a push, a strong push to the political talks in Geneva. We have to unite the international community behind these negotiations,” Mogherini said as she went into the Syrian aid conference in Brussels.

They can talk all they want but it'll mean squat until humanity finally demands that aiding and abetting a dictatorship is a far worse crime against ourselves than Sarin gas.

Syria along with most of its neighbours are perfect examples of why dictatorships are such awful and perhaps the worst weapon any group of humans can deploy against another to further their own interests.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

If they negotiate a settlement there will be lots of glass-clinking at a diplomatic forum. The slaughter will continue, maybe with a short pause.
