....The Las Vegas Invitational Sevens is the largest rugby tournament in North America and maybe the world, with club and college teams from around the world. Maybe not any more.

Border security is more important than international visitors to rugby tournaments.    Las Vegas will survive is my guess.

Oh, I was thinking more along the lines of your paranoid fear of Girl Guides and school sports teams.

I know....and that's cute...but totally irrelevant.    Nothing special about Girl Guides or any other group when it comes to crossing international borders.

Do Canadian groups think they are extra special in that regard ?

This is about US paranoia and fear of little girls. What Canadians might expect is irrelevant..

No, this is about paranoia in Canada...no Girl Guides have been rejected at the border to date.

They will if their parents are from the wrong place. Trump says so.

That would be a tad like the Nuns in a bus scene at the US/Mexican border in Cheech y Chong's Up In Smoke.

Girl Guides would be an excellent way to smuggle in more smoke.

I'm wondering if Simon Fraser University is having second thoughts about joining the NCAA.

Why ?   It's the same border that existed before President Trump.   People were denied entry for all kinds of reasons.

The media has already painted the picture of poor innocent Girl Guides being frisked and rejected at the border. No need for an actual event...

They recruit their athletes from all over the world just like other schools.

Far more foreign athletes are recruited by schools in the U.S....including Canadians.

So ?

Why would any group take the chance, particularly with kids. I made the mistake of taking a bus over the border once and learned real quick that if one person has a problem, everyone on that bus has a problem because no one goes anywhere until that one person's problem is resolved. Never again.

That's how it should be.....Trump or no Trump.

Border access is a privilege...not a right...and that includes Americans visiting other nations.

In future, not from those countries I'm thinking.

The US can forget about holding international competitions where teams from those six countries compete.

No, you won't be awarded international competitions at all if you arbitrarily ban teams from certain countries.

Teams aren't banned...entire countries are banned for origination travel...and it is temporary.

U.S. gets far more hosting gigs than does Canada.

I totally agree!  They should certainly try to cross the border with a little Syrian or Sudanese girl in a headscarf, just to see if they can.  Who cares if these girls get turned back, if some dumbass border security agent arbitrarily decides she's a threat, she and her friends can certainly deal with any emotional fall out. Certainly no Republican blindly supporting his President's idiotic 'security' measures should concern himself with the reality of ill-thought out policies and poor implementation.  FUATHYRIO

Nothing special about Syrian girl guides compared to thousands of other people denied entry to the U.S.,  and millions more detained/deported by President...Obama!

Not the point; your claim that they are paranoid if they decide not to chance it because they may have kids or chaperones from the banned countries is delusional, a result of your blind adherence to a stupid president and his piss poor policy implementation.

I don't give a flying F what Obama did; its irrelevant to whats happening today.

Doublespeak. Their country is banned but its team isn't.

The operative phrase could well be "used to get", but again, that will be your problem.
