I would gladly resume military service to help President Trump send Iran a special message.

Been waiting almost 40 years to do so.

Please do so but do it in something that is a service to the society not wars...

Your country needs you!

Hey at least the US is giving Iran a heads up this time.  More than they got back in '53 when they first destabilized the region by practicing democracy.  Launching missiles seems pretty tame in comparison really.

I don't know. I've seen pics of those times,  women walking around in skirts without being covered head to foot. And destabilize by practicing democracy? What political ideology would you have ppl practice?

A total U.S. travel ban should have been in place for Iranians since 1979.   Instead, Iranians keep trying to get into the USA (Great Satan).

President Carter did ban Iranians for a spell.

That's all there's to know....

Sorry, what do you mean? I imagine women walking around in whatever they want and students having open discussion at university offends your progressive leaning?

Yes,  thank goodness for the revolution that ousted that hated democracy.

Yet no mention of the left losing g their shit and destroying private and public property,  not to also mention beating and pepper spraying people in the fight against fascism.

Don't buy into the alt-history. Iran was a pill long before Kermit Roosevelt arrived with a suitcase full of money for the remaining Iranian officers not yet aboard with the Coup.

The UN's very first crisis, in fact, was Iranian made.

Ah yes, the USSR...a non-entity in all alt-history where America = Evil. Stalin invaded Iran in 1941 when the Shah's father started making noises about joining-in the fun that was Operation Barbarossa. Churchill end-ran Stalin and seized the oil fields. The Persian Corridor resulted. Almost every highway, railway and airport in Iran were initially constructed by the USA as part of Lend Lease.

Under The Shah, Iran enjoyed a push towards modernity. That's where all the miniskirts came from.

But you're not aligning with ppls narrative of the US as Evil Empire. Facts are hard.

Ths Shah was no great shake,  but he sure as hell was better than what followed.

Yep....Iran even got some F-14 Tomcats and had a surplus diesel submarine on order.   I saw the modified labels/tags myself (Farsi ?)

That's why any Iranian who knows better tries to get the hell out of Iran, many going to California (same as so many Armenians).

Sorry, I forgot facetiousness baffles you.

What people practice in their own country is their business.

Washington made it America's business to see to it however that Iran was subjected to a dictatorship instead.

Imagine that eh, the most powerful and Shiniest Beacon of democracy on the planet killing democracy and installing dictators instead.  It's disgusting, like priests raping children.

Who and why on Earth would anyone want to defend or apologize or otherwise shrug off such an abomination is beyond me. There clearly something wrong with anyone who would do that.

Really ?   Then please explain why so many Canadian sycophants for American left-wingers are so animated and upset about President Trump, regardless of Iran (a policy not of his making).

Ultimately, the Coup of 1953 was about the Iranian military and their supporters not wanting to be part of the Soviet Union as the Tudeh Party was attempting. Many had spent most of WW2 in Soviet POW Gulags and had a special hate for the USSR. Mossadeq used the Tudehs to get 'democratically elected' but then even they turned on him when he didn't move fast enough...can't win if yer poor Mousey. He spent the rest of his days in luxury house arrest...which is better than a Gulag.

Because Trump's a complete asshole that's why.

So it's OK to rant and rave about what happens in other countries when you decide.

Iranians and Canadians can practice what they want, but not Americans.

Got it.

Perfectly ok to rant and rave all you like. Your moronic country clearly crossed a line in Iran though - a line that was recognized way back in Westphalia.

Meh...Iran is just another nation on a long list.   Canada did the same thing to Haiti.
