Muslims love God. Especially the extremist Muslims.

How does that ties up with the 10 Commandments, and teachings of Christ? Put another way......

How do you show your love for someone you claim to love?

That's easy! You threaten them with eternal torture/damnation if they don't do exactly as you say!

Why did you edit my statement? Don't take my statement out of context!

I was referring about the Muslims. You brought them up.

How do they tie up with what you've quoted me say?

Here....try again:

What I do know is that loving God is required from us. It's in both the Old and the New Testament.

So my question to you.....

Following the example of the God who is rumored to have delivered the 10 Commandments, and who is also claimed to be the father of Christ - You threaten those you love with eternal torture and damnation if they disobey your instructions.

I follow Biblical examples to show my love. Once a group of homosexuals really wanted to bang some angels so I said "hey guys, gang rape my daughters instead." God was pleased, but he was really thrilled when he asked me to kill my son I love so much and I was like "hells ya, let's do this!" You should have seen the look on my boy's face when God said he was just punking us, priceless. Wish I had a selfie, it was hilarious, I think he even peed himself a little. Good times...

Your thinking is askew.

That's like saying if your beloved husband cheated on you, you show your love for him by cheating on him, too! :)

Furthermore, you can't threaten someone with something you can't deliver yourself.......no one can send anyone to hell, or eternal damnation! But, you can warn them about it. Good grief! Here, according to Merriam:

Threaten

  • to say that you will harm someone or do something unpleasant or unwanted especially in order to make someone do what you want

  • : to be something that is likely to cause harm to (someone or something) : to be a threat to (someone or something)

Warn

  • to tell (someone) about possible danger or trouble

  • : to tell (someone) to do or not to do something in order to avoid danger or trouble

Do you see the difference?

So, you're wrong (again), Dialamah.

You show your love for God by following what He'd commanded you to do (Old estament)......and following the teachings of His Son, who'd repeated the same instructions given by the Father. OBEDIENCE.

Why do I want to show love for someone who's willing to torture me for eternity?

Your response suggests you're quite confused.

Kindly backtrack and review how our conversation started. I'll be ignoring you until you can come up with

something rational.

It's a fair question. As a Catholic growing up I was constantly reminded of the eternal fire and damnation that awaited if I slipped up. It does seem a bit at odds with what a loving God might have as a plan. Do you think the Nuns made it up?

I'm going by the Commandments and teachings of Christ, which include acceptance of Christ since it says in the Book, He's the only Way to God. I speak as a Christian.

As to a non-Christian who loves God? That's between him and God.

Quite right, it is between that person and whatever that person calls 'god'.

Either way most of you god believers just simply make me roll my eyes. All of you are a tad insane in my view.

Love your self first, otherwise you might not be able to love anything else.

What's irrational about wanting to know why I should love someone who threatens me with torture?

Our conversation seems to have gone like this:

Me: Muslims love God too.

Betsy: How do you show someone you love them? (I have no idea what that had to do with my statement that Muslims love God, btw)

Me: Following God's example, you threaten people you love with eternal torture.

Betsy: Ten commandments, Jesus. How do you show someone you love them?

Me: Following God's example, you threaten people you love with eternal torture.

Betsy: You must obey God to show him love.

Me: Why would I want to love someone who would torture me?

Betsy: You aren't making any sense. I'm out.

I do agree, Betsy, the conversation makes absolutely no sense. :)

Can you just respond to his post instead of telling posters to backtrack. I honestly started to backtrack but every backtrack post told me to keep backtracking. Your responses do not further the conversation when you keep doing this.

Well, I was talking as a Christian, and obviously referring to the Christian God since I brought up the Old and the New Testament, and was saying that our love is required by Him. That's lost to you, huh?

You should understand what you're responding to.

Quite right, it is between that person and whatever that person calls 'god'.

How can you be so sure it necessarily is between a person and WHATEVER he calls god?

How many gods are there that requires love from His people?

Okay Mr Gosthacked, what other gods share the Old and the New Testament(s) with the Abrahamic God?

Name one!

Furthermore, for a non-believer to be here and passing judgements on our religious beliefs - in a topic that obviously is meant for those who believe in God or a god - that's kinda irrational for you to say that you think it's us religious who's

"a tad insane."

FYI, it's the one who's lost, and doesn't get that what he's trying to argue about is irrational.....he's the one insane!

You should understand why I told them to backtrack and review the exchanges. Incomprehension is a consistent problem among liberals here.

Backtrack WCR. You, of all posters, should do that more often.

If you don't want non believers responding, why do you post here? We are all insane after all.

Look, if you can assure me that I don't face eternal damnation for not loving a God, I'll take your word for it. You must be at least as reliable as those nuns.

Krishna's idea of a good time was to snag all the girls' clothes while they swam.

But, yeah...Hell.

All of them.

I'm kind of like Homer Simpson: "But Marge, what if we pick the wrong religion? Then every time we go to church we're just making him madder and madder."

With so many gods, the odds are not in theists' favour.

Why take my word for it when you can so easily check it out yourself.

I'd given the Bible as the source that says it's required.....so, explain how you say all gods require the same.
