Nice try...Canada is paying by reduced U.S. market share, layoffs, mill closures, American takeovers, and foreign competition (Brazil, Russia). Trump has disturbed Canada's comfy little world and forced Trudeau to get a clue for international trade that is not 75% dependent on the U.S. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

We're not going to give you lumber. Your stuff is inferior and more expensive because you don't have a stumpage rate. We are having trouble keeping up with the demand even before the Cal. fires. Your mills that are still running, are inefficient and falling apart. So how many do you think will close this year? Quote

Let me clue you in to the American boycott of Canadian lumber....seems that tree huggers are upset with Canada's raping and pillaging of old growth forests: Quote The fourth-largest home improvement chain in the United States has joined a growing list of U.S. companies to boycott wood from endangered forests, dealing another blow to British Columbia's embattled forest industry. Pennsylvania-based 84 Lumber Co., with annual sales of $1.8-billion (U.S.) and more than 400 stores, said yesterday it will stop buying lumber from environmentally sensitive areas within three years. Seven of the top 10 U.S. home improvement retailers, including Home Depot Inc. and Lowe's Cos. Inc., have issued restrictive lumber-buying policies in the wake of an aggressive campaign by environmentalists to cut off key U.S. markets for Canadian old-growth lumber. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/another-us-firm-joins-wood-boycott/article22499977/ I had to replace two 6x6 mailbox posts last month, and I was very careful to make sure I didn't buy any Canadian lumber. Boycott Canadian lumber !!! It's on like Donkey Kong. Edited December 14, 2017 by bush_cheney2004 1 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Maybe I will let the CBC state broadcaster know that my town will soon elect a Republican animal control officer (dog catcher), so they can send a LIVE! crew to cover it. Yup, and the first thing that the CBC reported on their news cast this morning was about Moore's loss. They just couldn't wait to report it. They were so happy that Moore lost, you could see all the smiles on their faces. The CBC probably brought the Christmas party booze out a little to early to celebrate. Aw well, the taxpayer's will end up buying them "Moore" booze for another Christmas party. Naw, you don't want the CBC snooping around your part of town. That is like asking for a tsunami to happen. If there were a rumor going around that the Republican dog catcher may have sexually assaulted a female dog they will be down there in an instance to get the latest on that no doubt liberal fake and phony news story. Hey, you never know with the CBC. Just saying. 1 Quote
