That's right, as more and more countries step back by cancelling/downsizing orders, the F 35 costs just go up, along with the software snags etc. Luckily we have had the good sense to step back too. Why don't you actually compare the prices than? With engines, avionics, ECM/targeting pods, the USN is paying well over $70 million per Super Hornet (nearly $90 million per Growler)....... Ahh no, the USN (and RAAF) will retire their fleets in the 2030s........based on the expected ~40 service of our current Hornets, we will be flying their replacements through to the 2060s....... The USN doesn't get that price.....but you're right, unlike the price we would pay for the F-35, afforded with membership in the program (which the Liberals are still paying into) which is equal to what the Americans would pay, a Super Hornet purchase would be full pull. My gawd man, Canada is just a piker compared to the U.S. in failed military procurement! There is quite the competence in that failed history of U.S. military procurement! In fairness, many of the American military boondoggles (nuclear powered airplanes, star wars space lasers) weren't provisioning failures at all - they were pork barrel projects designed to funnel money into the hands of supporters.
