We are in the final turn going towards the finish line.

I suggest that rather than trying to switch from thread to thread this evening that comments be concentrated on this thread.

It may save a lot of repetition and confusion.

Results will be coming in East to West. At what point can we anticipate a result?

Needed some fortification?

I'll probably go have a pint or three and watch the election results on my tablet with a couple chums...

ETA - by chums, I mean friends/pals/cohorts... not the salmon.

I'm watching Radio Canada channel 28 Rogers cable. They just pored over a map of Canada with all the regions along with the corresponding political affiliations. It brings home the point that Canada is not an easy country to govern.

I am heading to the campaign office shortly, to do whatever it is volunteers do on election nights. First time ever volunteering, so all new and exciting for me. :)

Thank you very much for your service to our democracy. :)

At what point in the results have the advanced polls been counted?

Based on the results from Newfoundland, CBC's Mansbridge, exhuberant, states "a spectacular start for the Liberals". Sheesh, could he not subdue his political leaning and just offer some unbiased reporting? At least until all the results are in?

It seems you are heading for a change of government. How is it in Canada exactly: Is it a typical situation of getting fed up with the same party in power for quite a long time, almost ten years, and therefore yearning for a change or is there an economic downturn and increased unemployment which has caused the popularity of the Conservatives to plummet?

I don't think he's being partisan - they've doubled their vote percentage to this point.
