What makes a country a superpower how much it can rape the environment globally? Sorry I don't want Canada to go that road.

Too late...Canada not only "rapes" its own environment, but Canadian mining companies happily rape the environments of other nations as well.

Merging the NDP and Greens wouldn't change any of that.

He should not die of his wisdom pursuing. The majority voted to deprive his life.

Actually the jury wanted him to get off, but he wanted to die and so challenged them to convict him and kill him, and even then people wanted him to escape but he chose to die instead so as not to violate the law he believed in. Have you read Plato's writings on this?

He is highly morally. You can not hope he chose to be a fugitive to betray his own soul only for his own life. I support he chose to obey the law. And similar problem appears in democracy. The majority has a tendency to ignore the voice of minority, except there is actual protection for minority. And the later is republic regime.

In regards to a republic representing the minorities, (as differentiated from elites) of course it doesn't and never did. Republics tend to benefit elites and consolidate their power. Even Plato envisaged this with his concept of the philosopher king, who would be the natural rulers of republics by virtue of their intelligence.

The majority wanted Socrates to get off, few if anyone really wanted him to die. Socrates wanted to die to prove the strength of his philosophical convictions and to gain a sort of immortality in doing so as the Homeric heroes had survived through poetic laudation.

They voted a death sentence to him, and you said they did not want him to die, it is unfair. There is the mood of majority in democracy. Just as Iraq war, before beginning, the majority of American people supported such a war, years later, they opposed the same war. Republic has a mechanism to adjust such a mood. However, the republic of USA still is not complete.

Republic is not to represent the minorities, but protect the basic rights of each one in the whole, and the representative system is only working on this foundation. The elites make more contribution to the whole society, it is very fair they have more share of power.

Socrates himself voted for himself to be executed. They were following the law and Socrates' challenge. There was nothing unfair in the process at all. It was very fair. Socrates in fact said that it was 100% just that he was to be executed, because he had violated in the law that he believed in.

Yes imperialism in Democracy and in Republics is a major problem and caused the collapse of Athenian democracy.

Your idea of Republic protecting minorities is pie in the sky.

"The elites make more contribution to the whole society, it is very fair they have more share of power."

B.S. the slave labourers make a far greater contribution to the whole society than the elites. You are just spewing the elite's own propaganda.

Do you think the scientist Newton is an elite or a slave?
