Big Guy Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I voted to-day in the advance polls. Lots of folks lining up to vote; http://www.elections.ca/content2.aspx?section=vote〈=e I have voted in advance polls for the last 40 years and have never been worse for the experience. Quote Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.
BC_chick Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Good for you Big Guy. I'm going to vote this weekend too. Quote It's kind of the worst thing that any humans could be doing at this time in human history. Other than that, it's fine." Bill Nye on Alberta Oil Sands

scribblet Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 I voted before the advance polls in the returning office, beats lining up. Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
Bryan Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 I always advance vote. Virtually no one there today. I was the only one coming in, and one lone person entered just as I was leaving. Quote

On Guard for Thee Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 The advance polls here on Vancouver Island were lined up to the gunnels today. I had time limits so I had to move on. Will try demain. I was surprised at the turnout. Maybe folks are clearing the decks as to their civic duty so they can concentrate on the turkey. Not the one on the ballot. Quote

Long lineups at the polls is only one of the problems I've heard this election. There have been reports of a lot of issues with voter cards, including names and addresses incorrect for people that haven't moved for years and incorrect poll locations. Also, I've heard of at least 2 cases in small communities where Elections Canada have changed from past practices and as a result people have to travel long distances and/or times to vote. Conservatives have a consistent history of cheating on elections. I would hope they wouldn't stoop so low as to mess with Elections Canada. BC_chick Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 I went to vote but chickened out. I still want to vote Green but ABC is so important right now... scribblet Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 Good that ABC is important for some but not for others of course. A friend of mine just told me this heard when she was waiting in line today. Waiting in line to vote at the advance polls today was a young woman proudly announcing that she never usually votes but was going to this time because "it's time for a change" and when I questioned her why she felt that way her answer "my union told us to not vote Harper in" Then in the area where you cast your ballot her head pops up over the screen and her voice asks "how come I don't see Mulcaire's name on the ballot" No one laughed, no one said a word until I finally said "you're a smart lady....you'll figure it out" Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province

She got angry when told it was her choice. She wanted it to be done for her. Quote
Topaz Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 Remember the female page that got kick out of the House because she held up a sign about Harper in the senate..... she is recruiting young voters to vote and I'm pretty sure its ABC. Anyone under 50 better get out and vote because their future depends on it. Quote

Topaz Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 I like to see the Tories in 4th place but their supporters are too brainwashed to see the truth about Harper and his corruption. Quote
BC_chick Posted October 10, 2015 Report Posted October 10, 2015 I had my kid with me and she thought I'm voting GP because that's what I had told her once when we came across a bunch of signs and I told her all about the different parties, their leaders and names etc. I explained that things have changed lately and while trying to explain strategic voting to a kid I started to question my own ideology. I can't believe I chickened out and left. I know ABC is a must but I still felt conflicted. Quote It's kind of the worst thing that any humans could be doing at this time in human history. Peter F Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 Voted my third choice: Green. First choice was communists but none running here. Second would be NDP but the guy running for the NDP here is an ass. There's some strategic voting for you! Quote A bayonet is a tool with a worker at both ends
