Either you haven't actually read the changes that will come into effect, or your math skills are bad.

Back to David Akin's response They don’t like Harper and they don’t like Conservatives. And, by the evidence of their first ad, they don't much care for the truth.

Here’s what is really happening to federal health care transfers. Provinces will get 6% more — more! — cash for health care this year and 6% more — more! — next year. Then, they’ll be guaranteed an increase — an increase, not a cut! — of at least the cost of inflation or 3% a year — whichever is more. So from 2018 on, no province will ever get less than a 3% hike in federal transfers for health care.

Is an increase of 3% a year enough? Maybe not. But you sure as heck cannot call an annual increase a cut. If you do, you’re telling a fib

-snip-

Because right now, Engage Canada is wilfully burying evidence in favour of ideology. And I’m pretty sure progressives are fighting to elect a government that places evidence ahead of ideology.

Yep. Only in government land is receiving more money each year than the year before considered a cut. It's dishonesty at its worst.

6% reduced to possibly 3% is a cut.

It's a guaranteed minimum 3% increase. You're being deliberately dishonest again.

Are you now trying to say that Engage Canada is not led by former LIberals and NDP hacks?

People who were formerly involved in different parties working together. Yup. Sounds partisan....if you completely ignore what partisan means.

In another post, you said "low-information voters" and you have just displayed how you have low information on immigration.

Family class immigration does not cut into economic class immigration. It's a separate class and each are given a quota that should be met. It's also important to know that those who are sponsoring parents must meet a certain income threshold for the previous 3 years, which disqualifies many people. These rules have been in place for many years under different governments.

Oh my god. What's going on here? Someone who actually has some understanding of the immigration system commenting on it? What's this forum coming to?

Its currently a guaranteed minimum 6%. Apparently math is not your strong suit.

You're pretty funny On Guard - talk about flogging a dead horse! So you feel the Liberals should have guaranteed a 6% increase in perpetuity...is that right? Why didn't they? The answer is that even Martin wasn't that stupid! Have you heard the LIberals or NDP saying they would restore all these supposed "cuts"? Reality is not your strong suit.

3% is less than 6%, that makes it a cut. You could argue whether or not our economics dictate we need to do it, but it is rather stupid when people cant do the basic math. Those who do understand math estimate it amounts to 36 billion worth of cuts over a decade.

....AND funded largely by Unions and other Left Wing organizations with the sole purpose of making the Conservative Party unelectable. Yup.....indeed it is partisan - unless you completely ignore what partisan means. <_<

First of all - it's a minimum of 3% - it actually could be 6% - or even more. That said......if you got used to 6% raises every year and then you only got 3 or 4 or 5% - what do you think your boss would say if you questioned why he "cut" your salary? I'll tell you.....he would either laugh at your sense of humour, demand that you receive some sort of counselling - or kindly show you the door.

I dont know what the boss would say but I expect he would at least appreciate that I understand basic math.

Since they're partisan, tell me which party they're supporting.

He would...if you did. Everything you've posted so far speaks against that.

In what kind of fantasy world does the NDP have more money in its coffers than the CPC or even the LPC?

In what kind of fantasy world did you read where I said the NDP did... I said 'PACs' as in engageCanada pac which is supported by unions/LPC/NDP imputing words again.

Ok. In what fantasy world do unions have more money and power than the banks and corporations that back the CPC and LPC?

Funny how the conservatives think it's always cool to attack unions, whom defend workers rights and help evenly distribute wealth among working Canadians.

But when someone attacks the greed of corporate extraction of wealth from working Canadians that has led to Canada having the #16 world economy(and falling) , it's an attack on the well being of Canada!
