The issue has to do with 47 senators breaking the law, have you not been paying attention.

They have no broken the law. You're not much of an authority anyways, considering the whole officer Wilson fiasco. Stop pretending to be a lawyer.

Stick to the issue at hand. His unconstitutional power grab of an Iranian deal without ratification of congress. Congress has explicit foreign policy oversignt, and treaty approval. Insisting on purposely leaving out congress is the precursor to this letter. Actions have consequences. There's bi-partisan agreement in congress regarding a nuclear deal with Iran. Imperial president Obama refuses to acknowledge that fact. He has no authority to do so. Just another example of him shitting on the constitution yet again.

Like Bush with the PATRIOT Act. Fine time for you to care about the constitution.

The Senate does not ratify treaties. It is supposed to provide “advice and consent” to the president in the making of treaties, and must “consent” by a two-thirds majority if the treaty provisions are to become binding (U.S. Const., art. II, sec. 2.). It is the president who ratifies the treaty if the Senate consents.

Yes, I know how much you value the Constitution from the thread you started when the GOP wiped their asses with it when the arranged for a foreign ruler to come to undermine US foreign policy. Where's that thread again?

The patriot act was voted on by congress. Is the Iran deal going to be? Nope.

He actually does have that power.

What is the difference? It's still going to happen. Now how do you prevent it from happening?

Tom Cotton pens the treasonous republican letter and then meets with defense contractors. Hmmm... Why is it the repubs are itching for yet another war?

To side with another country against the leader of your country undermines your whole government. Other countries begin to question who represents the country in international affairs.

How would Canadians feel if the NDP and Liberal elected members of the federal government sent a letter to Iran sating that they disagree with Harper and his approach to the Middle East and requesting a dialogue with them? After all, they represent about 60% of the electorate.

I agree. But nobody is siding with another country.

People like you would love to make political dissent treasonous. People like you would love to make an equal branch of government treasonous for asserting their constitutional powers.

John Kerry said he was in disbelief when he read the letter. I wonder if he was ever in disbelief when he met with Daniel Ortega in defiance of the Reagan administration in 1985?

And of course, 3 Democrats, headed by the number 2 Democrat in the house of representatives, visiting with Iraqi officials in 2002. Before the war. In the defiance of the Bush administration.
