I haven't had the time to try and puzzle out how it might work. We do have gps technology though and I think there may be a way to put it to work for gun safety.

There isn't.........the most expensive, well mounted, argon filled, rifle scope can't maintain zero with repeated and continued use........anything electronic, not a chance.......

Good luck with that........first, as mentioned, there are millions of guns in North America, how do you propose installing said chips? Second, I doubt they could ever make a GPS chip and transponder that would withstand repeated ~2000+PSI shots....third, like guns with internal locks and now biometrics, people won't buy them......fourth 3D-guns make the entire concept moot, within ~ten years, anyone in the world with a 3D-Printer and an internet connection can make their own gun, sans GPS chips......

Obviously this can't be accomplished overnight however: first, you make it a requirement in any newly manufactured guns (like airbags in cars etc) Second, those chips are teeny tiny, light as a feather and being jarred about is no problem, Third, if people don't want to buy them with this safety feature then they shouldn't maybe have them, Fourth, access to internet for such activity requiring background check and registration before proceeding. Ain't technology wonderful.

Can't happen because there is no such technology......

Wrong.......laws can't change transit physical excitation.

Third, if people don't want to buy them with this safety feature then they shouldn't maybe have them,

People won't buy them because natural science and basic engineering would disallow such a product.

Fourth, access to internet for such activity requiring background check and registration before proceeding. Ain't technology wonderful.

You're going to require a background check to access the internet?

Nonsense. How many G's do you reckon firing your gun imparts to the rifle itself?

Nonsense? The chemical reaction from gunfire doesn't foster a gravitational measurement.......

Yep, and it's called a G force. How many? Or do you know what I'm talking about? I can explain if you want.

No you can't, because there is no such transfer of G-force unto the rifle itself.......

GPS chips and RFID tags/bracelets are not a new idea....the U.S. government and several states are already exploring this technology. Several years ago, firearms with electronic interlocks controlled by an owner's ring or bracelet were developed. This kind of technology has some drawbacks for lawful owners and users of firearms.

Economics trumps Virtue.

There sure as hell is. Ever felt that hhing against your shoulder when you fire? That's G force. But I thought you were trying to tell me that would render a gps chip US and now you are saying something else. I'm not sure what you are on about now.

Indeed, like being subject to use......

Exactly. Not unlike the key fob that unlocks the doors on your car as you approach.

No it's not..........quite the opposite in fact.

Obviously you don't know what g force is. Acceleration/deceleration, as simple as that. That whack against your shoulder when you pull the trigger is the rifle accelerating in the opposite direction of the projectile. When you are pushed back in your seat in a 747 when it accelerates for takeoff, g-force. Not complicated.

I know what G-force is, as I know what Newton's laws of motion state.........you clearly don't.

Oh well you were trying to tell me recoil from your gun had nothing to do with G force so that indicated you didn't really know what it is.

Again, you're arguing against classical mechanics and Newton.......if G-force applied as you suggest, it would be impossible for a human to fire a handheld firearm........

No, the G force thing has apparently got you confused. But that's a ways off the topic. As BC pointed out earlier, technology has been tried to give you the same type of electronic connection to your gun you have long since had with your car. The car thing of course is meant to stop someone stealing your car, and the same idea for the gun. If your car gets stolen it can be tracked. With addition of a gps chip your stolen gun could be as well. There are always people that will figure out some criminal way to beat the system, but the harder you make it, the less there will be.

and I wait with bated breath for hearing you explain that one. G force can stop me from firing a gun?

Not confused at all, I unlike you, understand the science........by all means, indicate what variable represents G-force on a common recoil calculator....

No, conservation of motion allows you to fire a gun.........

Make it mandatory and throw anyone out of compliance into jail for being terrorists.

Excellent.

No they won't. Within ten years the state will be throwing people in jail for even searching the Internet for that sort of content.

I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical,
a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

Thats a cute little graphy thing but it is probably how you have confused yourself so much. The closest thing to G's there would be the in lbs but you can just make it simple. Next time you are on an airline flight for instance, sit on a bathroom scale when you are about to land. Now let's say you weight 175 lbs. I just used that because it's what I weaigh. when the plane hits the ground keep your eye on that scale. If they really screw up and make a hard landing and that scale moves up to 350 lbs, you have just experienced 1G. Simple as that.

Why not make it mandatory for everyone not to hurt their fellow (wo)man?

I don't.

Clearly....

Excellent.

Internal trigger locks have been a reality for decades........yet the public, police and military still procure guns without them....

No they won't. Within ten years the state will be throwing people in jail for even searching the Internet for that sort of content.

Like they did with child porn?

What is "G's" a measurement of?
