He's better than Reagan AND Clinton don't ya know! 71% believe country is on the wrong track. http://www.mediaite.com/online/poll-71-percent-believe-u-s-is-on-the-wrong-track/ This is why you should read beyond the headlines: Roughly 70 percent pointed the finger of blame at political gridlock for the current state of the economy. 79 percent are just fed up with the political system in general. (2 percent said they are “very satisfied” with how the political system is going, and obviously we need to meet these people since they’re about as rare as unicorns.) Of course, if everything sucks, then everyone must also suck, and numbers for President Obama and both parties are not good. Obama and Congressional Republicans tie for disapproval ratings of 54 percent each; but whereas Obama’s approval rating comes in at 40 percent, the GOP only gets 19 percent. Quote

On Guard for Thee Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 ah yes! The apology thing... I'd expect no less from a self-proclaimed liberalDemocrat! FactChecker handles that supposed apology thingee - here: "bowing to"? So... you're ok with holding hands and kissing then? I won't bother going through the rest of your post as it can be dealt with just as easily. I'd forgotten all about this little item. Thanks for posting it, I needed a good chuckle today. Quote

So I guess those two little items can cancel each other out on the tabloid smear pages and now we can get on to real business. Like perhaps Forbes endorsement of Obama. Quote
Hal 9000 Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 per the Forbes linked article (provided by MLW member, 'Mighty AC')... you know, the article you appear to have a most selective interpretation of: ... Shady Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) I love that you actually tried to counter data with an opinion poll. Way to confirm the conservative evidence aversion studies. Your cherry picked data was amusing. But doesn't jive with the overall mood of the country during actual strong economic times. In otherwords, your propaganda piece is nice, but not reality. If the economy was really that swell, the mood of Americans would be much much different. It's an historical FACT. Edited September 8, 2014 by Shady Quote

In otherwords, your propaganda piece is nice, but not reality. If the economy was really that swell, the mood of Americans would be much much different. It's an historical FACT. Why would you assume public opinion is shaped by reality at all? We're talking about a country where 70 per cent think violent crime is increasing (despite an ongoing decline) and where nearly half the population believe in creationism. Like you, the public are entitled to their own opinions. But not their own facts. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Candidate Obama on creationism from 2008: Obama made the following comments about the Biblical story of creationism at CNN’s Compassion Forum at Messiah College in April 2008. “What I’ve said to them is that I believe that God created the universe and that the six days in the Bible may not be six days as we understand it … it may not be 24-hour days, and that’s what I believe. I know there’s always a debate between those who read the Bible literally and those who don’t, and I think it’s a legitimate debate within the Christian community of which I’m a part. My belief is that the story that the Bible tells about God creating this magnificent Earth on which we live—that is essentially true, that is fundamentally true. Now, whether it happened exactly as we might understand it reading the text of the Bible: That, I don’t presume to know.” Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
