How can you not? Germany, the UK, Australia, Israel all openly have great respect for Harper. His maternal healthcare initiaive and partnership with Bill and Melinda Gates have Africa's respect. The business community in the US are awed by his subject matter knowledge. The guy has flaws, as does his party - but there is no denying the guy stands tall among world leaders.

Didn't Germany just call out Harpers trade proposel to the EU last month as it goes against their Constitution and the rights of corporations in the EU?

“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find your way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

Perhaps there are still some negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement - but Chancellor Angela Merkel doesn't hide the fact that she has a lot of respect for Stephen Harper.

Nevermind the UN, ok. We're the laughing stock of NATO too, barely able to fulfill our obligations there.

Rubbish. There is minor concern about our ability to meet our NATO treaty obligations. It is tempered by the reality that Canada- with US, UK and Ddenamrk- was one of a very few supposed allies that actually did the heavy lifting in Afghanistan. They know it. We know it. And now you know it.

It's a massive upgrade from the horror of the Chretien years, when that asshole would actually send our men and women in harms way into combat zones like the Balkans with seriously substandard equipment.

Science too hard for you? Try religion!

It takes Mulcair 3 attempts in QP to finally get Harper to answer the simplest of questions: "how many troops do we have in Iraq"? If he doesn't know, (and I guess if anybody should know it's him) then why not just say that. Finally he says 69 and it's like pulling teeth. Obama has actually been quite clear about what he is doing. Just look at Harper on the world stage, he fumbles and bumbles and when he can't figure out what to do next he grabs a glass of water. Slightly embarrasing IMO.

The same (much of it is) as the asshole now who sends them places?

Not even close.

Oh, and speaking of the head count, Chretien had about 200 of our plucky lads in Iraq the first time around.

Harper is tough and that is what we need, and JT on the world stage will get eaten alive.

The same way B. Hussein Obama is being consumed?

To be fair, "first time around" started January 15, 1991. I don't think Chretien took the Privy Oath before November 1993.

Don't be a spoilsport by letting facts get in the way.

You'll attack me whether I'm supporting a right or left wing position. I can't win.

What is the point of leaving out his first name which he is commonly known as and leaving his middle name in? What point are you trying to achieve?

It's a variant on his name. How many times have you referred to Trudeau the Smarter (as opposed to his imbecilic son) as "P.E.T."?

Not sure of the point you are trying to make. He is known as Barrack and yet you emphasize 'Hussein'. Why is that?

I'm not attacking at all. Just trying to underline the actaull fact you have pointed out with a touch of sarcasm.

Understood. You're probably surprised I know who your PM was when the first Iraq war was fought. I only know the PM's going back to Laurier and I usually leave out some of the early ones. I often forget who was after Borden and before King, and during the Conservative interregnum of the early 1930's. I know Meaghen was in there somewhere.

While I am pretty sure he is not Muslim, I am totally sure he identifies with the Muslim world and not the U.S. or the West.

Again, this is getting Donald Trump stupid. Let's see his damn passport we all know he is a Muslim terrorist trying to destroy the US, Let's do it before he concludes the second term of leadership the American people elected him to do. Sheesh!

I am, for the record, not a birther. I believe the article that appeared in a Honolulu newspaper mentioning his birth.
