Hydraboss Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Neat testimonials. Too bad they're about as useful and tangible as a fart in the wind. Like I said though, you're only interested in information that supports your personal bias and position. You're a teacher and you're seeing what you want to see. Socialist is NOT a teacher. He's pretending to be a teacher. "racist, intolerant, small-minded bigot" - AND APPARENTLY A SOCIALIST (2010) (2015)Economic Left/Right: 8.38 3.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 3.13 -1.23
Hydraboss Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) This is a BC issue, not an issue related to Ontario. I would argue that this is larger than just BC (the province). It extends to all jurisdictions in Canada because each and every one will need to deal with this group of people eventually. We did in Alberta a number of years ago (I can find the thread if you want). As for BC (Bush_Cheney), I'm actually glad he jumped in. When you consider the "quality" of Socialist's posts (cough, hack...) it seems only right to let someone in that will argue at his level, only with details (if not facts). You don't have to like what he posts, but you have to admit he backs up what he posts more often than not. edit:clarity Edited June 13, 2014 by Hydraboss "racist, intolerant, small-minded bigot" - AND APPARENTLY A SOCIALIST (2010) (2015)Economic Left/Right: 8.38 3.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 3.13 -1.23

The BC government is in for aa rude wake up call and they better bring something decent to the table THIS WEEKEND. Thankful to have become a free thinker.

Pct2017 Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Michael Hardner and Cybercoma - do you still have complete and unquestioning faith in public polling after the Ontario election?
socialist Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 Michael Hardner and Cybercoma - do you still have complete and unquestioning faith in public polling after the Ontario election? Take a look at what BC classrooms look without stuff bought by teachers with THEIR OWN MONEY!! Another great visual showing the under-funding of public education in BC. It amazes me how clueless the teacher bashers are. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/06/12/bc-classroom-photos-teachers-strike_n_5489576.html?1402612360&utm_hp_ref=canada Thankful to have become a free thinker.
socialist Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 Michael Hardner and Cybercoma - do you still have complete and unquestioning faith in public polling after the Ontario election? More proof that BC public is siding with teachers. Boy, this must make you and hydraboss mad as hell. http://www.insightswest.com/news/british-columbians-parents-siding-with-teachers-in-dispute/ Thankful to have become a free thinker.
The_Squid Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 Why weren't you in the class teaching at 10am?
Pct2017 Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 Why weren't you in the class teaching at 10am? You are asking the wrong question. It should be why are you skipping class? My bets are on Socialist being a school age kid living in a pretend world afforded to him/her by the anonymity of the internet. Let us put it this way, if he/she is not thus, then there has been a great deal of arrested development.
Pct2017 Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 More proof that BC public is siding with teachers. Boy, this must make you and hydraboss mad as hell. http://www.insightswest.com/news/british-columbians-parents-siding-with-teachers-in-dispute/ Once again, do you read what you post? "Teachers should get the same salary increase as other unions in BC" - 65% "Teachers should get a higher salary increase than other unions in BC" - 16% Great research there boy.
Hydraboss Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 More proof that BC public is siding with teachers. Boy, this must make you and hydraboss mad as hell. http://www.insightswest.com/news/british-columbians-parents-siding-with-teachers-in-dispute/ I cannot thank you enough for this! This is GOLD!!! However, there has been some movement in the past two weeks, with 17% of British Columbians stating that they are no longer as supportive of the teachers and the BCTF, and 4% saying they are no longer as sympathetic with the government. So the teachers have lost 17% of their support, but the government has only lost 4%. Awesome! On two other issues, the public gravitates more towards the government’s position. More than half of residents (58%) think balancing the budget should take precedence over raising salaries for government workers (22%), and two thirds (65%) suggest that teachers should get the same salary increase as other unions in BC, while 16% think the teachers should get a higher raise. Balanced budget > government worker raises 58% No 'super raises" for teachers > "super raises" for teachers 65% Gold Jerry. Gold!! THANK YOU SOCIALIST! I couldn't have found a better poll if I had prayed for it... socialist Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 The BC government funds public education $1000/pupil less than the national average. Teachers are spending thousands of dollars equipping their classrooms because of under-funding. It's a disgrace. Thankful to have become a free thinker.
bush_cheney2004 Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 BC, tell me how you can possibly add value to this thread? Please, add some valuable substance to this very serious matter in our province. My contribution was quite clear, adding the perspective of student stakeholders. Pretty easy to understand..... Economics trumps Virtue.
socialist Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 My contribution was quite clear, adding the perspective of student stakeholders. Pretty easy to understand..... You are an American where public education has been destroyed by corprotists. All americans care about are high stakes testing that damages students. No wonder the usa is declining. Destroy public education and watch society decay. Luckily Canadians are smarter. Thankful to have become a free thinker.

Attacking Americans will not solve the labour dispute in British Columbia. But it is a time honoured way for some smug Canadians to pretend to be superior. No wonder many of these students will leave Canada to live and work in the USA. Economics trumps Virtue.

bush_cheney2004 Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) BC students know BS when they see it.... 'Like parents who are divorcing' The B.C. Student Walkout for Students is being organized through a Facebook event page hosted by students Victoria Barker and Mackenzie Timko, who have also set up a Twitter feed. 18-year-old Barker attends Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary in Surrey and says the entirety of her academic life has been lived in the shadow of the battle between teachers and government warring, supposedly in her interest. "There's just so many of us that are fed up with the dispute," she said. "If they were really doing this for us, then the lockout wouldn't have been imposed and the strikes wouldn't be occurring." Pct2017 Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) BC's posts lack research. Most of the time they are headlines grabbed off the internet. I am curious as why you would call out BC's post for lack of substance yet you say nothing in regards to young Socialists blather? Could it not be that you are blinded by ideology now could it? OK, having said that, I still appreciate your being able to muzzle his neo-liberal crap at least for a little while. But I am still really glad that he is arguing on your side of this debate. It would really suck to have him representing something akin to my point of view. Edited June 14, 2014 by Pct2017
