Seven things I've learned from FOX news.

Why does it bug you guys so much to read about Canadian government complicity in the funding and control of the CBC, but there is seemingly no issue with "exposing" Fox News Channel as the mouthpiece for the Republican Party ?

It really is pretty bizarre. Especially when these same people have no problem with the mainstream media along with other cable networks being mouthpieces for the Democrat and Liberal parties. Apparently they can't stand even just one dissenting alternative voice. Apparently they need EVERY media outlet to be on their side.

The nice thing about publicly funded media is that it doesn't have to flog the corporate agenda of whoever funds them. But hey, if you like pablum that's your choice.

The not so nice thing is using tax dollars that could be spent on more important things instead being spent on a network that airs things you can find in the market place on many other networks.

speaking of that repetition you just mentioned... you once again, for the umpteenth time in this thread, repeat your trolling reference to 'government controlled'. In your mind, does your not specifically mentioning the CBC give you trolling cover?

Just report it and move on. Nothing else we do will cure this little problem. It's like a common cold, you get rid of it for a short time, but then it comes back.

Doesn't matter, as they are not financed with taxpayer dollars or government controlled like another broadcaster in North America. Fox News Channel has a large audience demographic that obviously prefers it over other cable news sources.

Most of them are over 68. I have great respect for elders. But they do tend sometimes to have shorter attention spans, which works well when listeninhg to fnc.

False....Fox News Channel still owns cable news audience share for a younger demographic:

Fox News remained on top in 2013, capping off its 12th consecutive year as the most-watched cable news network among both total viewers and A25-54 viewers.

Lets leave it at this: you continue watching fnc I will stay with cbc, and you can even continue with your farcical notions that cbe is gov controlled. OK?

In other words, you were quite wrong. Let's leave it at that.

Here's a suggestion, tune into a cbc program called poer and politics (every weekday at 2 pm eastern) the get back to me and tell me the government would allow such scrutiny if they had the ability to pull the plug. Until then, let's leave it at that.

No thanks...the CBC is government financed and controlled at several levels, including enforcement of CRTC CanCon rules.

As the old adage goes, "ignorance is bliss" why do you keep on expressing the former? BTW, CRTC and CBC are two very different operations.

I know....Canada has two state financed and controlled entities to influence broadcasting content. No wonder more people prefer Fox News.

CBC is the number 1 watched news program in Canada. Sorry.

That's how the government wants it. The CBC is also a taxpayer funded way to watch hockey.

I will search my cable listings for the CBC or any other Canadian programming, but it will be harder to find than American programming in Canada, like Fox News Channel.

Once again you are so totally misinformed. The government in Canada (especially these Harper folks) would, if they could, tear the CBC feed right out of my wall. They hold the gov to account, and this gov doesn't like that. It's much more interesting than eating pablum from the corporate control out of fox's hand. But then as you have pointed out, fnc people are much more interested in some dufous blondes legs. Hey, you can go to the pub and get that.

Perhaps you can help me find the CBC on my cable lineup. It seems that Fox News Channel is widely available in Canada from many providers.

Sorry, those are mostly border areas. It seems that Fox News Channel is much more widely available in Canada than the CBC is available in the U.S. This confirms what I suspected for audience choices in both national markets. I wonder why all those Canadian cable providers would carry Fox News Channel compared to CBC carriers in the much larger U.S. market ?

It's available because of pop. density south of the border. And because they are hoping we are dumbed down enough to log on. So far it hasn't worked. BTW, isn't jerry springer on now for you boys?
