Guest Derek L Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Well, you know, most Canadians aren't writhing in liberal guilt like you. Most Canadian, given a choice of giving away their house or fighting, will get themselves a gun and go hunting indians. Don't think they won't. It might be 2013 but people will still fight to protect what they've spent a lifetime building up. If you think the government could ever make a deal which even began to approach that you have a very poor imagination. It would spawn the bloodiest riots in Canadian history and wind up with the parliiament buildings and Supreme Court burned tothe ground and a lot of dead judges and politicians. But I thought you wanted to ban private guns? Quote

bush_cheney2004 Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 But I thought you wanted to ban private guns? Too funny...now they want guns...and ammo ! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Guest Derek L Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 Too funny...now they want guns...and ammo ! Well, when the "Government gives their house away to the natives", they can go through the six month process like the rest of us prior to getting guns and ammo Quote
PIK Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) You share the same rights with aboriginal people, too. They can fish/hunt everwhere I fish/hunt ,but I can't fish/fish everywhere they do. They can block roads and rail lines and torment famlies. I can't. Accountability Now Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 They can fish/hunt everwhere I fish/hunt ,but I can't fish/fish everywhere they do. They can block roads and rail lines and torment famlies. I can't. We are most certainly NOT equal to aboriginals....at least in the eyes of the courts. If an aboriginal commits a crime, he will be tried differently and prosectued differently then everyone else. There have been many Supreme Court cases showing that aboriginals have been favoured just to show resepct. In regards to the whole Metis thing....I have come to terms with what we give to Status Indians living on the reserve but why would we give a red cent to anyone one else? If the 'white" man is to be blamed then why are they living among the white men? Why are they taking white men jobs? Most importantly...if they are 50% or 25% or 12.5% native (which was done wrong) then they must be 50% or 75% or 87.5% white (who the wronging!) Seriously....that is the worst part about all of this. If you are not 100% native then join the rest of us taxpayers. Quote
g_bambino Posted January 14, 2013 Report Posted January 14, 2013 They can fish/hunt everwhere I fish/hunt ,but I can't fish/fish everywhere they do... I can't. That doesn't disprove my statement. Quote
Argus Posted January 16, 2013 Author Report Posted January 16, 2013 I'm sure something to that effect.........Or was that just folks that live in the city? First, my comment about Canadians grabbing guns was non-specific. Ie. it was a prediction of what any number of people might do, not what 'I' might do. Second, I've never proposed banning guns entirely. What I want, first and foremost, is a drastic crackdown on anyone holding guns illegally, much less using them illegally. I'm talking life in prison here without parole. Second, what I suggested to get guns off the street, in addition to pounding smugglers and sellers into the ground, was that guns in urban areas be locked in central depots and picked up on the way out to go hunting. I don't accept that guns should be kept around the house for self-protection.
