Right. Speaking of "no idea what you're talking about", It's the stuff after 1900 he's not allowed to sell. The cannon in question...a six pounder smooth-bore was thought to be from the Civil War as part of Rickett's battery. Turned out it was probably from after 1900 as part of a Civil War veteran's association for parade purposes. Edited December 17, 2012 by DogOnPorch Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
Guest Derek L Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 Moreover, it is clear that such a mindset has no idea what they are talking about, will lash out with false conclusions and more ineffective "feel good" solutions, all while driving more people to purchase firearms who wouldn't have otherwise done so. And that has been proven time and time again………Like we both offered in respects to the prices of guns and ammo after such tragedies..... Quote

WWWTT Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 Why should it ? If a deranged individual is hell bent on killing people and take his/her own life, not much can be done. The worst school incident in the U.S. involved a bombing, not 2nd Amendment gun rights. 45,000 people have been killed in Mexico since 2006, but I don't read one crocodile tear about it from concerned and righteous citizens in Canada. Why is that...no hablo Español ? Start a thread about it then WWWTT Quote Maple Leaf Web is now worth $720.00! Down over $1,500 in less than one year! Total fail of the moderation on this site! Yes...most Reb cannons and muskets were British Napoleonic Wars surplus or from other helpful European nations like the Prussians. The 12lb Napoleon was the standard...and the Brown Bess musket for the troopers. That or the ol' shotgun or squirrely rifle. The Springfields were slowly 'supplied' to the Confederates after each battle pre-1863...(wink). After that...supplies got a bit sketchy. cybercoma Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 Correct Sir...every gun nut deserves to have a high quality revolver in his/her collection. The biggest mistake people make in time rapid fire competitions is to waste time putting the empty loader back in their pocket or vest. Just drop it to the ground like an empty magazine when ejected. Go for the gold ! It is truly sad and pathetic that you are glorifying firearms in this thread. Grow up. Quote

What shouldn't be a part of life are assholes like you that talk about how awesome guns are in a thread about innocent children that were shot dead in one of the worst mass homicides in American history. Hey a bunch of little kids were just shot dead. Cool! I'm going to buy more guns and ammo! It's sad and pathetic, if not completely appalling. You want to talk about how awesome guns are, go start another thread about it. Glorifying them here is disgusting and shows what an utter bastard you are. Quote

Argus Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 Horse shit. Plus, you are taking the old bait and switch tactics from someone who doesn't want to talk about the topic at hand. They are not the exception.... Yeah. They are. Most of the violent crimes of this sort are due to drugs and street gangs. In this country, street gangs are made up largely of immigrants and the 1st gen kids of immigrants. On the west coast it's various Asian/Western Asian gangs. Argus Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 Would the Bushmaster had of killed those children without the “crazy person”? Of course not………….I fully agree that “crazy people” shouldn’t have guns. And how do we keep crazy people away from guns when there are millions upon millions of guns scattered everywhere? Argus Posted December 17, 2012 Report Posted December 17, 2012 The basic thesis is wrong. There are ethnic gangs in Vancouver. There are multi-ethnic gangs like the United Nations. There are predominantely white gangs like the Hells Angels. Multi-ethnic meaning various ethnicities OTHER than white Canadians. Everyone brings up the Hells Angels. While I think all the Hells Angels should be in prison for life the fact remains they are not a street gang and when they decide to kill someone they usually do it quietly and rarely wind up killing some ten year old by accident. Quebec, of course, being something of an exception to THAT. Argus Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 I disagree, you’re reverting back to the gun and not the person………….The vast majority of American gun owners should be able to purchase .50 Calibre rifles and AR-15s or whatever the hell they please……You exclude the tiny fraction that are bat shit crazy, and those guns owned by the overwhelming majority are a moot point……….. Cool. So I'll wait till my neighbor gets one and take it from him. For the record, in gun sensitive Canada, .50 Calibre rifles and AR-15s, are perfectly legal to own with the required licenses…….Like I said, it’s the person, not the gun. Good luck getting that required license. Argus Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 (edited) How many .50 calibre rifles or AR-15s have been used to wipe out classrooms of children in Canada? How many rocket launchers have been used to wipe out classrooms in Canada? Gee, you're right. No reason people shouldn't own rocket launchers. Except here's the thing. There mere statement that you WANT to own a 50 cal snipers rifle is, in the opinion of a lot of people, more than enough proof that you are indeed batshit crazy. Guest Derek L Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Good luck getting that required license. I already have it, as do other Canadian gun owners with an RPAL........ Quote
