On Guard for Thee
You know what is currently better than an F-35? Everything. It just seems to me that when you take a close look at that airplane and start counting the number of engines it doesn't take long before you realize it's at least one short. I've flown a fair bit over the arctic on one engine, didn't like it. So I couldn't ask others to do it.

On Guard for Thee
Others will stand in line to fly the F-35, so please step aside. Check the orders. They seem to be (and I must apologize for my use of metaphor) dropping like flies.

Over 100 built and delivered to date with lots more in the pipeline. Canada only built five Avro Arrows...right ? And they had TWO engines! Wilber
Britain's two new carriers are designed to operated VSTOL aircraft only, which means the F-35.

On Guard for Thee
We don't have carriers here in Canada. We do have ample space for runways. So let's not buy a hugely expensive "turkey" that doesn't really do anything well at great cost.

It was used in a documentary some time back which revealed all the problems this ac has.

They work very well, upgrade training for both mechanics and pilots is easy, and we have a guaranteed price per unit instead of this wildly wavering price tag that LockMart couldn't ever seem to get a handle on. They are obsolete....maybe the Americans will sell you their scrap from Davis-Monthan AFB for spare parts. Oh wait...they already do that. Super Hornets are a different aircraft. What makes the arctic so different? There is no such thing as a cheap fighter aircraft that is worth having.

All our experts went south and that's why Canadians have run most of the aerospace industry in the US. Boeing, JPL, NASA, etc. US officials convinced Canada to abandon the Avro project because of missile technology was touted to make fighter aircraft obsolete. Perhaps it was a ploy from the US to kill a plane they knew would give them a run for their money. Can't have anyone else entering the arms industry. It was a stupid move and if we had gone through Avro would be a household name for aircraft. The Avro Arrow was a fantastic plane, and their next generation of plane would be even better. A total waste.
