Well does council really want to spend $7 million to satisfy the outrage of one, politically motivated, private citizen? Perhaps re-appointing him is an appropriate outcome. He only needs a simple majority for it to happen.

Or they could appoint someone who is not a fuckup.

Like Doug Holyday, which polls have said many wouldn't oppose. But then what happens to his seat?

But you can't really replace a guy like Ford with someone like Shelley Carroll. That's a change that wouldn't be supported by the most recent election results.

You could replace him with a tree stump, about the same amount of brain matter and less likely to screw up.

Apparently a ruling is in. We'll have to wait until Friday at 10:30 am.

If Ford's appeal is rejected he's out pretty much immediately and council has 2 months to fill the vacant seat.

Ya know...maybe the prudent thing to do is let the man serve,

He will serve up how much an idiot he is, how anything he wants will be voted the opposite way....and we get the faux outrage of Sideshow Rob and his polished yet still a turd brother Doug for kicks.

" I want a prop tax increase this year"

:Ok Mayor, we will vote on it now."

"Mayor, how do you vote on the prop tax increase?"

"Nay"

"Wha..?..blink.png "

Still waiting, but I'm betting the idiot gets off. Good news for comedy fans, bad news for the city.

Lets hope he doesnt and Hollyday gets to sunset this term.

I dont think the court wil reverse,

They did. The moron stays.

Ok, he wins by not losing. Lets hope he gets the message (he wont) and does a better job (he wont) and stays free of contoversy (he wont).

Sideshow Rob lives again.

Maybe he will utter 'The Adam The' ......smile.png

That wasn't the basis of their ruling.

That's what CBC News world was saying. All I can find is that the original judge erred in the ruling.

Now apparently his opponents are going after some campaign finance violations Ford committed.

The court ruled Ford could not have paid back the money since he never received it. I believe it specifically notes that the three grand was a significant sum to him.

Now apparently his opponents are going after some campaign finance violations Ford committed.

Maybe things would be easier for him if he didn't give his foes so much ammo to work with.

The real story should be about the Leftie Activist along with Clayton Ruby - who took this case on for "free". These guys are all part of the Elitist Left that has soiled Toronto for so long.....

The lawsuit against him was filed in March on behalf of resident Paul Magder, who was directed to the case by left-leaning activist Adam Chaleff-Freudenthaler.

Ford had criticized the lawsuit as a petty attempt by his ideological foes to oust him by any means available. Magder said he was simply attempting to hold Ford accountable for his behaviour. Chaleff-Freudenthaler has refused to speak about his role.

Well if Clayton Ruby takes this to the Supreme Court it would be pretty silly.

For the sake of the city, he should just drop it.

The appeal is out and I suggest people read it before they do as Black Dog has done. The appeal court made many rulings the most important being the interpretation of s.5(l) of the MCA. B

The Appeal court did not state what Blackdog said. Read it for yourself and you be the judge. There is a hell of a lot more context for the conclusions as to how the appropriate laws should have been applied.

May I suggest Blackdog prepare a placard for the next Gay Pride day parade and raise the issue there sincehe said such events can be used to display political opinions of any kind. I would march there and demand Ford be impaled.

Yes because I was totally trying to give a full breakdown of the ruling here. rolleyes.gif

Will you be there with your many (imaginary) gay friends?
