So really, a guy who advocates for an internet snooping bill is asking for his privacy to be respected because he is in the hospital. How ironic can you get?

http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2012/04/02/pol-toews-hospital-flu.html

Public Safety Minister Vic Toews was taken to hospital today for observation after battling "a seasonal flu," his spokesman said.

"Minister Toews has been battling a seasonal flu for the past number of weeks," spokseman Mike Patton said in an email. "As a precaution, he was taken to the hospital today for observation."

Patton asked that Toews' privacy be respected

Maybe he should have thought about privacy when introducing the internet snooping bill he tabled earlier this year. Another case of the leaders wanting something for us, while advocating something else for them.

Funny how this same bill was going to be passed by the libs and nobody said anything, but when the cons do it............... And like usual it was overblown by the left.

Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

I *think* you're a conservative, PIK, but I'll point out here anyway (while we're on the topic) that "cons" as a nickname for conservatives isn't accepted here any more than "Lieberals" or "Dippers" is...

Don't shoot the messenger.

Hi stopstaaron - please note that insulting politicians isn't accepted either, and the moderators will act on complaints on such insults when they see fit.

Not to be too prickly about it; but just to clarify, you mean that Canadian politicians are not to be insulted.

“There is a limit to how much we can constantly say no to the political masters in Washington. All we had was Afghanistan to wave. On every other file we were offside. Eventually we came onside on Haiti, so we got another arrow in our quiver."

Didn't he take the Health Ministers advise and get a flu shot. I don't know anyone this winter who got the shot or who has the flu. Sure he has the flu. Maybe high blood pressure due to stress??

I think that people on the "Right of the Political Spectrum" don't want the government Snooping through their computers.

This is not Communist China.

Communist China ain't no more...

Now it's "Authoritarian Capitalist (see Fascist) China...

And that's right up the average free marketeers alley...See Kevin O'Leary's fawning over how things are done there.

Two points. 1, individuals privacy should be respected. 2, hospitals are not a place you should expect privacy. Bring a doctor TO your home if you want privacy.

Jails arn't either.
