Nowhere in that article did he say that.

Read this first line.

Preston Manning cautioned his fellow Tories on Saturday that the conservative movement in Canada must practice as well as preach ethical policies, be open to new ideas, and better train political candidates.

Paraphrasing

1. It isn't about the party, it is about the movement now.

2. They arn't practising or putting forth ethical policies.

3. Their ideas suck.

4. They suck.

The headline in the OP's link is the thing to go by in this thread.

Preston Manning says it's time for more ethical policies in politics

Remember back in the day when the little milquetoast used to call for more ethical politicians?

I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical,
a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

Ok So J44 what do you reckon Manning was getting at?

What does this mean to you?

Manning also noted new poll results released Friday by his centre demonstrate Canadians' perception of politicians "is bordering on contempt" — which poses problems for all parties, particularly the government.

There are 308 ridings. Almost all of them had candidates from the 4 federal parties. Thats 1232 "Politicians" of which only 166 are part of the "Conservative Government"

Should be against the rules, my guess is that it is.

It's not. I've read the rules.

But posting anything on this forum and another (ANYthing at all, it does not exclude saying "hi I'm Teddy") is a Bannible offence without notice.

Cross posting is defined as posting the same information in more then one forum on the Internet
All cross-posts will be deleted without warning.
Any user who fails to abide by these rules will be banned without warning.

Clearly the spirit of the law is not to ban people who say hello, who have said hello on another forum, but, the "letter of the law" on this one is insanity.

Surely the vast majority of those 1232 had a snowball's chance in hell to be elected? I mean, there must be safe seats for different parties therefore from the other parties only juniors are sent to compete in those ridings.

Or does the canadian election-law stipulate that you must be a resident in the riding you are a candidate in?

Manning said the robocall vote-suppression scandal being investigated by Elections Canada, as well as new polling numbers he released Friday - showing only one per cent of Canadians have a very favourable opinion of politicians - reinforce the need to improve the practices employed by all parties, including the Conservatives.

He applauded the Harper Conservatives for having what he said is an independent accountability officer in the Tory election war room to guard against illegal or unethical activity. However, Manning said he wants all parties to avoid using vote-suppression tactics and robocall technology for nefarious reasons.

So he says that the idea of Robocall is unethical--- For which ALL parties are being investigated--- see headlines CTV news--- Liberals behind Robocalls & Under investigation.
