Well, the CPC are stonewalling every effort to assist in this investigation, so no, I guess it is same old same old.

They are clearly better at this than anyone else. Why would they volunteer to let the opposition know how they do it?

Canada’s chief electoral officer Marc Mayrand planning crackdown on robocalls

OTTAWA—The man in charge of elections in Canada is pushing for a legal crackdown on the use of so-called robocalls by political parties before the country goes to the polls again in 2015.

With 1,300 separate investigations now under way into alleged, fraudulent calls to voters in the 2011 election, Chief Electoral Officer Marc Mayrand believes that Canadians’ faith in the democratic system is being shaken.

“Deceptive phone calls, both live and automated, have arrived on our electoral landscape and their use will have an impact on how Canadians view the electoral system,” Mayrand said in a speech on Tuesday to the Economic Club in Ottawa.

“I will be bringing forward recommendations to ensure that the Canada Elections Act has the right measures to deal with this new reality.”

The elections chief isn’t revealing details yet of the tighter laws he will be seeking from Parliament early next year, except to say they will be “measures to prevent a recurrence of the issues we saw in the last election, particularly in relation to robocalls.

Is this the beginning of the end for the CPC's insistence that it did nothing wrong in the election? Will Sona spill the beans here, or will the party brass shut him up somehow?

Indeed, EC needs to get to the bottom of this, can he be held until he divulges what he knows?

Sona says the Guelph campaign received a lot of direction from Conservative party headquarters in Ottawa and says the party should know who accessed its database to make the robocalls list.

While he maintains his innocence, Sona is shedding no light on which individuals might have been involved in the scheme, saying it’s up to Elections Canada to get to the bottom of the matter.

Agree, if E.C. has completed it's investigation then it needs to release the findings, otherwise all the speculation and innuendo takes on a life of it's own becoming fact for some.

That liberal call has been out in the open, its the coverup one that Election Canada wants more info on.Did you see the 24 year old that was accused by the Tories, who worked for the Tories in the last election? He said he didn't do it because he doesn't the the password for this particular computer for the calling list but he thinks he knows who could have done it that DO know the passwords. He also said that EC doesn't believe he had anything to do with either.
