I guess it makes sense that it's people in the sticks who find Blatchford's ham-fisted attempts at humour to be amusing. These are likely the same people who doubtless kept "Everybody Loves Raymond" on the air for so many years and enjoy the ribald comic stylings of Larry the Cable Guy.

I enjoy Blatchford from time to time. But I don't watch Everybody Loves Raymond, or Larry the Cable Guy. Much in the same way you find CBC's ham-fisted attempts at humour to be amusing. But I don't assume you also like Little Mosque On The Prarie or the soothing music of Rita MacNeil. :)

she is right.

since the late 1970s the feminist pro gay agenda has been in full swing to emasculate men and break down the family unit by "educating women" and the state becoming the caretaker.

Sounds like something one would expect to hear in a Charles McVety sermon on how to be a good bigoted Christian...

“This is all about who you represent,” Mr. Dewar (NDP) said. “We’re (NDP) talking about representing the interests of working people and everyday Canadians and they [the Conservatives] are about representing the fund managers who come in and fleece our companies and our country.

Blatchford's a tactless hack and the sooner she becomes worm food, the better this country will be.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it! That's freedom!

Some might say the same about you. That's THEIR opinion and they are also entitled!

BTW, do you laugh much? Beyond an occasional crude snigger? How good are you at laughing at yourself?

Just curious. I have a suspicion.

I'm laughing at your post... now.

Yeah, Rick is just a fountain of leftwing joy, isn't he?

I'm the shy quiet type...flattery will get you nowhere. :)

She writes for the common man, the mainstream. Those expounders of political correctness never want to admit that their views are held by a minority.

"Men should be men!" and "why don't y'all support the troops?" are cherished sops to political correctness, WB.

PC moves in more than just a leftish direction.

Orwell was right, I suppose.

All this male hugging is just more attempts to feminize men, to make male children more like girls so they will be easier for female teachers to handle.

Man, everything is "Orwellian" to the conspiracy-mongers! :)

And to tick off some so effectively, she obviously is quite successful at what she does.

If that's your measurement of worth, you are plainly a Chomsky fan.

Blatch is exceeding well thought of by the citizens of Caledonia. Certainly Dalton's government did bugger all for them!

How many citizens of Caledonia even know who Blatchford is, much less think highly of her?

You don't get out much, do you?

During the native protests in Caledonia the townsfolk were often almost completely ignored by the national media. They were denied the protection of the law and many suffered, both emotionally and physically. Old folks were driven from their homes, an old man was smashed in the head with a piece of lumber and left with permanent brain damage and so on.

Blatchford covered the story for the Globe and Mail. Later she wrote a book called "Helpless - Caledonia's Nightmare of Fear and Anarchy". She took no stand on the validity of the native land claims but instead simply interviewed hundreds of townspeople and natives, compiling all the incidents, violent and peaceful, that had been occurring in Caledonia.

Her book received much media coverage, including interviews on TVO, CHCH, CBC, radio stations and others.

She stood up for the townspeople and it would be very surprising if virtually all the townspeople were not aware of this.

You might try talking to a few of them. This is the sort of thing where you won't find a poll cited on the Internet but if you actually sit in a Caledonian Tim Horton's and talk to people it will quickly become obvious.

Not that you have done so...but....you just know it.

No, Bill, the majority of Caledonians, like the majority of people everywhere, have never read nor heard of Christie Blatchford, or Heather Mallick, or any other political pundit and polemicist.
