This film, spoken in Australian, highlights the horrors posed by global warming. If we do nothing the world will come to an end. This is truly horrific and alarming. Edited by jbg

It is a waste disposal problem - to generate growth you must generate waste - and everyone loves the aspect of growth - in fact we are addicted to more and more growth. We shit in the water - we shit on nature in general - now that we are so grown up we have taken to shitting in mid air...eventually- we will bury ourselves...it's a case of physics - of space - forget the warming effects - people are not one with nature - but one with the environment - which has only to do with keeping cities tidy...drive by a park - people thing that is where you dump your old mattress...go down the street and see a decorative planter - with flowers - people think that is were you spit and stick your empty McDonalds bag..humans are pigs - and without real natural stewardship and some one to muck out their pen - they drown in their own waste.

So what.....even our waste is valuable. Doesn't matter since we are gonna DIE! DIE DIE! form global warming.

And this post has what to do with Canadian Federal politics exactly? Looks like Julia Gillard isn't the only media whore... <_<

Global warming is an issue in Canada. And this video points out its dire and immediate threats. In Canadian terms, PEI and Nova Scotia could be underwater in the next few days.

I agree...Canada is in dire danger the same as all other countries....this is no time for such strident nationalism (Australia vs. Canada). Besides, Australia is part of the Commonwealth. God Save the Queen!

We must put aside the continuing terrorism and attacks between Canada and Australia if we are to save either from imminent drowning or melting.

Really ? I didn't understand that from the video.

The video is from Australia. But the same dire threat that faces the coast of Australia faces PEI and NS.

Very persuasive commercial. More evidence we must panic.

Tigers belong in the jungle, not in gas tanks. That's cruelty to animals.

wow, just wow! We see less than 10 seconds of the Australian PM offering such an, apparently, extraordinary statement... where the video extract has her saying nothing more than, "and it would also see the Great Barrier Reef threatened by increasing ocean temperature and acidification".

of course, the verbal extract came from a full press conference, where PM Gilliard brought notice that the Australian government has accepted the consensus science of today concerning mankind's affect on climate change, that there is a need for putting public attention on facts, figures and science, that with the government having accepted the word of scientists and their research, given the Australian economy of the day, the government is even more determined to act... on carbon pricing. As she said in closing, "the facts are clear, the science is in... we must move to address carbon pollution by putting a price on carbon."

so... Michael... if Gilliard's full press conference had been shown rather than the actual shlock video, do you think there would have been more... even more... gnashing of teeth and wailing from the MLW usual suspects?

A statement which is clearly nonsense because even if one accepts the science it does not automatically follow that CO2 mitigation is the best strategy. In fact, CO2 mitigation is most certainly a futile strategy and money is better spent elsewhere.

ya, ya... go spin your Adapt-R-Us only position to PM Gilliard and her Australian government - I'm sure they will be most attentive!

Well, the Australian public is anxious render its opinion on CO2 mitigation. Things are not looking good for Gillard and the Labour party. The main argument which is resonating with the public is the tax is it hurts the economy and accomplishes nothing. Edited by TimG

Nah, the subject of this doesn't belong here. I think you are just whoring for some attention by being a troll.

I think that this video was supposed to be some kind of sarcastic humour, poking fun at AGW. That's fine, and there's nothing much to be said about it.

Could be my age - but it is either to cold or to hot. Climate change is actually climate disruption or destruction. The earth and nature are pretty powerful and possess a survival instinct that pales compared to our own. Our instincts that govern the need for more comfort - more stuff - more freedom - are STRONG...we just might win the contest with nature and utterly destroy it and come out on top - Just as in Miltons' zaga, mankind will triumph over God and Nature - we will stand and scream like a satanic figure and declare we are GOD - but we will stand on a pile of ashes - shit and all sorts of toxins..we will win this war against God and end up with NOTHING.

It's always "would" and "could". That way no one can ask 'hey where's the global warm up'?
