Marx makes a good point. It's the capitalists that sow the seeds of their own destruction by sucking their hosts dry. Those that don't realize that labour is not just bought, but also sold are oblivious to the fact that the employing class relies just as much on the employed class as vice versa.

With the war against unions, it's obvious that the employing class has forgotten that. However, the reality is that labour is cheaper elsewhere and that's where the mega-corps have gone, and the mega-investors reap the mega-profits of paying poverty wages, and then pay taxes at the same rate as unemployed low income people here.

In other words, they get mega-rich off poverty and then plead poverty. <_<

But it's not poverty at all. The very term poverty is a relative and arbitrary benchmark defined by the very system you hope to dismantle. And this is why your point of view will never prevail in the marketplace.

As local labour runs out of jobs, they will organize against the capital class. That's exactly what's happening today.

Not exactly....they are going to go after the illegal workers first.

I tend to agree………You or I aren’t taking away their factory and other manual labour intensive jobs…..nor do we want them, nor would we work cheaper then them……..

Did you catch the Jesse Water’s segment on the Factor the other night? He went and interviewed the “protestors”………..One fellow carrying a “we want jobs sign“, was asked how long he’s been out of work…..his response, he quite his job to come protest the lack of jobs…..

I also found interesting from the report, was that the protestors are being funded by one of Soros’s organisations and the Lawyers Guild………..Well, now that the story is being reported on FOX, I guess they can’t claim the corporate mainstream media is white washing the event

;)

NPR did a story yesterday and they actually mocked the list of "20 demands". So they are getting MSM attention for all the wrong reasons. It is laughable....

Indeed... I wouldn't call this lack of coverage.

Not surprising after two weeks of people asking where their coverage is ... :)

But I can't see your photo Bonam. Too small. Do you have a link to the report?

The protesters legal costs may be funded thusly.

The protest itself is funded by donations flowing in from around the country and around the world. They have had more food than they need due to people calling in delivery orders for them, $10,000 in one night, for example. They are feeding the homeless too.

They have, at one estimate, about $100,000 in donations too, from individual donors.

It's a popular protest. :)

The screenshot just shows the top three news links on google finance last time I looked at it. All happen to be coverage of the protests. One is from the Wall Street Journal, one is from Fox, and one is from Reuters.

And the consensus of all the coverage that I’ve seen……Much ado about nothing……..Let me know when the protestors outnumber the NYPD……….

Major providers of television news ABC CBS News CNN Fox News Channel MSNBC NBC News

Major newspapers include: New York Times Los Angeles Times USA Today The Wall Street Journa Washington Post The Dallas Morning News

Reuters is UK based and has reported before. So has WSJ. Major networks (does Fox really count?) and newspapers still pretty silent.

I will say that while I generally admire the democracy the protesters have constructed, I think their communications with media need some coordination. It's too easy for media to selectively choose interviewees, edit and reconstruct to make it appear the way they want.

Media relations people needed, and will doubtless be found.

So you’re suggesting they need to control the message? When O’Reily’s crew was out interviewing a few of them, a few fellow protestors “blocked the shot” of an interview with a self professed young communist girl…….I guess those on the bottom of the movement shouldn’t be heard eh?

They need spin doctors......I know a few, but they don't work for free ;)

Speaking of spin ... <_<

They need clear communicators.

They will emerge.

So their message isn’t clear as it stands now? Maybe it is, and people just aren’t “buying it”……..Remember, the Don Draper’s of the world tend to be employed by the very people they're protesting.........

It’s funny, Michael Moore was interviewed and asked what his major complaint was…his response, capitalism…….When asked if he’d have his current notoriety (and millions) without capitalism, he had nothing to say and the look as if he swallowed a mouth full of $h!T…….

 Yes, clearly not a good spokesperson ... but he wasn't chosen by the protesters to speak for them.

They sleep on air mattresses, use Mac laptops and play drums. They go to the bathroom at the local McDonald's. A few times a day, they march down to Wall Street, yelling, "This is what democracy looks like!"

Hmmmmm. Mac laptops. McDonald's. Sounds as if that's what capitalism looks like too. Michael Moore fit right in! :D

Still spreading like wild fire...

700 people arrested yesterday in Brooklyn...

Yet it continues to grow as more and more join the cause...

Occupy Wall St. protest to march into Canada

Activists are planning an occupation of Toronto's financial district as well as other Canadian cities following in the footsteps of protesters currently camped out on Wall Street in New York City.

A group calling itself Occupy Toronto Market Exchange has launched a website to organize a march on Bay Street beginning Oct. 15.

That's a Saturday, when the stock exchange is closed and few people are working in Canada's financial capital.

About 830 people on Facebook have replied they would attend the event in Toronto.

The Arab Spring's roots are being planted here.

“This is all about who you represent,” Mr. Dewar (NDP) said. “We’re (NDP) talking about representing the interests of working people and everyday Canadians and they [the Conservatives] are about representing the fund managers who come in and fleece our companies and our country.
