Topaz Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Peter Falk, who played Columbo, a detective , died Thursday at the age of 83. I like him as a actor, he played many character and did it well. I don't think there are too many of them left today, and I'm trying to think who is left? Lauren McCall, for one, others? http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/25/arts/television/peter-falk-columbo-actor-dies-at-83.html?_r=1 Quote

That's why you are not in Hollywood. Mickey Rooney was indeed a very big pre WW2 "star", starting with the Andy Hardy series of films. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mickey_Rooney#Andy_Hardy_and_Judy_Garland Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

His Columbo character was brilliant...and always interesting - no one dared switch the channel in favour of watching someone else more engaging - because there was none! Quote
