Shady Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 At least we never went 0-16,though... Only the Detroillette Permalosers own that distiction... It means nothing now. The Lions are on the rise, and will probably beat the Bears twice this year, and most years for the forseeable future. Get used to it! Suh and Fairley are gonna be killing Bear quarterbacks for the next 10 years. Quote

Shady Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 Did anybody else know that Hamilton holds the record for longest overall losing streak. Yep, 20 games in a row!!!! Yikes. Even the 2009 Detroit Lions can't compete with that type of losing. Quote

And in a watered down modern NFL,going winless should be almost mathematically impossible... But your Detroillette Permalosers came through in spades with that one... Enjoy the mediocrity... 1 (one) championship in 54 pathetic years... Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!

Shady Posted July 31, 2011 Report Posted July 31, 2011 They only play an 18 game season up here, whiz kid... It's on the CFL website whiz kid! It obviously spans 2 seasons. In a watered down CFL with only 8 teams, missing the playoffs should be almost mathematically impossible too! Enjoy the mediocrity... Enjoy the sub-mediocrity from the Bears this year. But you can chock it up to really bad ownership.Something Detroillette Permaloser fans know all about, like the Ford family!! 0-16 over one season...A modern day monument to incompetence brought to you by the Detroillette Permalosers... 1 (one) championship in 54 pathetic years...Brought you by the Detroillette Permalosers... I love how the best you've got is to try to be derivatve of my completely accurate representation of the Permalosers... Just try to make to .500 this year...Just achieve mediocrity for a change, huh? Shady Posted August 1, 2011 Report Posted August 1, 2011 I gotta say it.....Damn did the Lions ever do well in free agency!!! They added two starting linebackers, re-signed Chris Houston, and traded for another starting cornerback. With their devastating defensive line, they're gonna be a handful this year. Bring on the season! Quote
Boges Posted August 2, 2011 Author Report Posted August 2, 2011 Rookie defensive tackle Nick Fairley's foot injury might be more serious than originally thought, the Detroit News reported Tuesday.Fairley, selected 13th overall in April's draft, left practice Monday with a left foot injury. X-rays later that day were normal, according to the Detroit Free Press. Fairley wore a walking boot Tuesday, and the Lions' medical staff might be exploring a possible stress fracture, the News reported. "We are still doing some tests," coach Jim Schwartz said. "We are having a lot of different people looking at it. He's down for now." Schwartz would not say if he believes the injury is long-term or short-term in nature. The coach described how the injury occurred on Monday. "Nick sort of tweaked his foot during pass-rush, or individual (drills), one of those things," Schwartz said. "They sent him in to get it X-rayed, just to make sure there was nothing, no broken bone in there, because he wanted to keep on practicing. So we sent him in, and that was negative. Lions Quote

Uncle 3 dogs Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 It's not very interesting at all. I like football and I will try again to watch some Argo games this year but I find it very difficult to love the league. The rules are quirky, the goalposts are in the front of the endzone, the Rouge is a ridiculous way to score points, and the fact that there are only 8 teams makes an 18-game season way to long. There I said it. Oh joy! Another American wannabe. The goalposts are on the goal line, where they belong. The rouge is a point teams earn by getting close enough to the goal line to kick it over the goal line and prevent their opponents from getting it back over the goal line. A field goal is just two bonus points for kicking it between the goal posts Every team playing every other more than once means the standings are meaningful since nobody gets an easy or hard schedule, they are all equivalent. Uncle 3 dogs Posted August 5, 2011 Report Posted August 5, 2011 No, it's more entertaining cause it's a better game, with better players. It usually happens when defenses disguise and then show what type of defense they're ready to execute, and a QB tries to change a play at the line of scrimmage. Are you new to football or something? The downtime is mostly a result of commerical opportunaties, and less about the game itself. I agree, there shouldn't be as much time between play, and definitely not as many commericial breaks. But shortening the 40 second clock is something the competition committee is looking into. But watching paint dry is how I'd describe trying to sit through a CFL game. Yes, I definitely don't understand rewarding a team for missing a field goal by making the opposing team have to run the ball from the missed kick out of the endzone. It's completely retarded. Pretty much describes your post. Quote

Yeah they are stupid rules. The game is tied, there's 5 seconds on the clock, you're on the 30 yard line, you win if you can punt the ball more than 50 yards. The NFL schedule is actually pretty fair for a 32-team league. You play the 3 teams in your division twice (home and away). Your division plays 8 games against 2 other divisions one AFC and one NFC (it rotates every year), and the remaining 2 games are made up of playing teams that finished the same spot at you in the other divisions in your conference. Since you're pretty much competing against the teams in your own division is very fair. Edited August 5, 2011 by Boges Quote

A 1-5 team of convenience at this point. Not a Rouge, but the potential of a Rouge and the necessary play to keep one from happening... My sons 2nd game of the year this year was won on a Rouge with 4 seconds to go...35-34... By the way,I see your Argos just fired thier DC and have put former Tiger-Cat and Argo Orlando Steinauer in his place... Lemme see...Blew team Offence=crapola so Head Coach(and GM) Jim Barker fires the Defensive Co-ordinator because his defence is on the field forever and is giving up points late in games... Good call,Argos!!! And all this one week before the Blew team has to come to Ivor Wynne... Yeeks!!! Edited August 6, 2011 by Jack Weber Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
