lukin Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 A good night it is. Now if only Liz May loses, this night will be perfect. Quote

Moonlight Graham Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Love the results! Very exciting night...anyone who said this election wasn't needed...well....big changes. I like the fact that i don't have to hear Iggy squack across the the floor as much, but i preferred a Conservative minority MUCH better to a majority. The minority kept their more extreme policies and b.s. in check, despite having, IMO, the better policies on the whole than the other parties. Should be an interesting 5 years or so, and i'm interested to see what the NDP can do as the opposition. One good thing: no coalition wrangling b.s.! Smallc Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 The Bloc will lose party status in the House. Party time!!! Definitely. I couldn't think of a better result for tonight.* *Provided Harper keeps the social conservatives under wraps. Quote

RNG Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 (edited) I can tell you one thing - Forum Research and EKOS now officially have no idea what they're talking about. I disagree. As much as I don't like the Green platform, she isn't a dummy and brings a lot of good points to the debate. I would look forward to her questions in question period. Assuming off course that she doesn't have a deciding vote of course.Quoted wrong post, I was referring to the Boo May post. Roger Steele Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 It is great for Canada to have a stable majority Government. I feel sorry for the people of Quebec. When I was a teenager they had some representation in Ottawa with the Liberals and Trudeau used to spend a lot of money there to keep them happy. They have put a lot of support behind the second place party. Jack will have to tap dance very carefully to try to keep his support in Quebec while still satisfying the remainder of his supporters who typically want something totally different! How about the Liberals and Bloc who may both be looking for new leaders tomorrow as their leaders look like they may not even get elected!!! Ignatieff couldn't even get support in his own riding !!!! I am glad I have been proven wrong. A majority Government Quote
lukin Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Throw the Greens a bone for sheer staying power. Other than this, it's been a crappy night for the Greens. But May is in it for herself, not her party. Quote
