They seem to be unable to control their admiration for Republicans that they have to copy their attitudes, motions, and beliefs.

Aw gee whiz then, I guess everybody right of centre is a fascist.

haha ya that must be it and all ndp are communists glad we have made the world completely black and white except that fascism doesnt really fit either side of the coin.

Excellent thread here man!

Any thread that annoys the righties from the word go is very entertaining for me and you got a good talent at this.

I always look forward to sparing with the righties myself and these threads bring out the righties that write first think after.

I actually like it when the Canadian righties try to emmulate their southern counterparts. It annoys many Canadians to the point were they will never support them.Just ask Harper how his persuit for a majority is going if you want proof of this.

Actually many Canadians do not like Americans or American style politics.

I love it when Harper wears that little Canadian flag pin on his jacket immitating George Bush's style.Every time I see him with that pin I see George Bush!

Ironically, in America, the origin of traditional American conservatism is in Virginia and the southern colonies back around and before the revolutionary war with the Loyalist camp who wanted to keep the King as head of state. They eventually evolved into the slave states, and now they are the center of American conservatism (as it spread across the south, of course).

Also ironic that a Liberal British Prime Minister (Temple) wanted to, but couldn't openly support the southern states, due to a Scottish born chief justice's (William Murray) ruling nearly a hundred years prior. Also Ironic that the first Republican president was Abraham Lincoln.

That's completely idiotic. Obama wears one, and so will any other Canadian PM, most likely.

Was Obama the first one to do this and make it popular among some American politicians? And so what, when I last checked Obama is an American!

You miss the point.

How is that ironic? The Republicans of Lincoln's time were on the left wing, Southern Democrats on the right, and Northern Democrats a sort of weird centre-right mix. Gradually over time, the Republicans and the Democrats both began to have a mix of left and right policies, but when Southern Democrats shifted to the Republicans with Nixon's Southern Strategy, that began the modern era of Republicans on the right, Democrats on the left, which was easily hastened by Reagan's policies and inflammatory rhetoric of the past 20 years.

And some French-Canadians do not like English-Canadians or English Canadian style.

Nationalism would destroy Canada.

But WWWTT, there's a greater issue involved. While I'm not American, I happen to believe that individual liberty is a precious, natural resource. Between Ghaddafi, China, Iran, Kim Jong-Il, Venezuela or even bureaucrats in Brussels, I know where I'd put my chits if I were forced to choose.

So what? What you said was completely idiotic. There's nothing wrong with wearing the flag of ones country...in a tasteful manner.

I'm not sure what you're talking about any more. You made a non point, and now you have no way to back it up. There are enough real reasons to criticize Harper.

You, sir are wrong. I have never been to China, but I have been to Venezuela, and that was even more scary than being in the hinterlands of Mexico. Have you ever been in either of those places beyond the touristy areas?

There are also many places in the USA where you should never get out of your vehicle or unlock your you doors

But more importantly what does any of this have to do with the NDP?

Now it gets juicy, a lot of English Canadians believe that Quebecs demands are not unfounded and if anything all provinces should have the same control over immigration among other things. Unfortunately this does not fit in with a lot of limited minds who automatically call it a right wing attempt at americanization of the country. In my opinion trying to lump a country our size into one envelope is rediculous, east coast culture is as different to west as Quebec is to the rest of the country. That being said, true blue seperatists who "dont like english Canadians" have been brainwashed by b.s for years. Case in point when people from across Canada rallied in Montreal during the referendum Quebec media was reporting hundreds had shown up...well over 5000 left from the rally point we were at in Ottawa and it was one of several in our city alone. People wonder why so many dont trust the media. The sad part of that was it was CBC Quebec that did that report, your tax dollars hard at work.

I wasn't aware US states could control immigration.

What did I say about the socialists in this thread?

Oh ok sorry,I forgot you never bein to China.

Oh by the way their economy is expected to grow by 9. something in 2011

I like to call them "The country whose people who have never heard of the right wing recession"

As far as the other countries you have listed,I am sure I could find many countries in Africa, central America and Asia that have right wing governments that would also fit your description!

The Canadian health care system is a mix of public and private care. Our hospitals are public, but outside of that, doctors operate as private businesses. The government pays no matter which door you open.

Like suggesting someone has a hidden agenda or are going to put soldiers on the streets while "Americanizing" health care? The Tories are really no better or worse than the other parties. Jack Layton once accused Paul Martin of murder.

Right on - although many conservatives might support private health care alongside our current system, it doesn't mean that our health is 'Americanized'. Actually it would be more on the line of Australia or France.

What I find amusing and hypocritical is how these people complain about the U.S. and Americanization yet think it's okay for an American organization to interfere in Canadian election.

Actually, after hearing that Jack Layton, is going to hire thousands of doctors and nurses and- yup - increase my pension payments, I'm almost euphoric, nice to know Jack can do that, maybe he'll get my vote. LOL

I agree about this, SunTV seems to be doing well, but it sure doesn't have the bias people thought it would have, they are going out of their way to be unbiased.

Agree about Fox, I don't find it as bad as the left thinks it is.

3.I suppose you mean Sun News, haven’t seen it yet, but have heard it seems like something made on a university campus. As for Fox News, I enjoy the Factor, Huckabee, Lou Dobbs, Dennis Miller, Juan Williams, John Stosell, Brent Hume, Charles Krauthammer(sp) and Chris Wallace. Not really a fan of Hannity or Shep Smith. Glen Beck, I won’t comment, don’t want to get put on his chalkboard ;)

I’ve never understood the claims of real bias towards Bill O’Reilly.

Why do you so enjoy copying American Republicans so much?

[/quotE]

Why is it that you are too unintelligent to see how unintelligent you are?

You actually think that most Canadian conservatives see themselves as US republicans, or that most of us asked for or care about SUNTV?

Is it possible that you aren't voting conservative because you're damned stupid? Or could we maybe just say that we have different opinions about things without bringing ridiculous arguments like yours into the discussion. Yea, its the conservatives that do all the fear mongering, sure it is.

Classic stupid rhetorical thread posted by a left of center baiter, really why bother.

Fact is there is really no equivalent to Republicans in Canada, wish there was. Problem with the foolish dogma of the left is that it is just that; foolish.

All I can say is that if the NDP gets into power, hide your assets, its only a matter of time till they come after them, I'll be liquidating shortly after May 2nd depending on the outcome. Oh and start clearing off your debts, because jobs will get very scarce and interest rates will inevitably get much higher as government taxes (yes even corporate taxes) combined with spending and the inevitable debt spiral will fuel inflation.

Whereas your typical democratic capitalist wishes to solve issues like hunger and poverty by providing opportunities and employment, our left of center friends will create the need for social programs and welfare by removing those opportunities.
