blueblood Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 BS, pure and simple. When they raised the minimum wage in several provinces over the last couple of years, did it put Walmart "in a bad financial situation"? I'm tired of this constant theoretical bickering that these huge multinationals are going to be hurt by helping hard-working Canadians. They're not and unless you're Walmart, you shouldn't care. They just raised the prices in canada to offset that. That option won't be availible when target comes in and can compete with walmart on price. Take a look at walmarts financial statements then multiply the difference of what you think should be wages minus actual wages. Multiply that number by the total amt of employees worldwide. Walmart doesn't look so profitable does it? Walmart doesn't look so profitable does it? Walmart is one of the most profitable companies in the world. Despite the awful irritant of minimum wages, and even an occasional bump in them. And they eclipse Target, both in sales and in pure profit. Target was gaining on them, yes, but Walmart is currently the clear winner. PIK Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 He has a Hungarian bred wife? I did not know that. Have you ever seen a Hungarian that does not look like a revitalized vampire? On an experieced personal level - I have never met an Eastern European - especially a Hungarian that I liked - SEE if I am correct on this - Not ever having laid eyes on Iggys old lady - would someone post a picture of her so I could have a quick visual study.......so if she is not a Canadian citizen .................HOW LOYAL CAN A GUY BE TO CANADA WHEN HE WANTS TO BE PRIME MINISTER BUT DOES NOT SEE IT FIT THAT HIS FAMILY IS CANADIAN? What the hell it that? I am getting not to like the guy the more I learn about him...Do these egg head Iggy types actually believe Canada is a NON- nation and up for grabs by any hobbyist that wants to have his own empire? It just shows iggy had never had any intention of returning to canada ,until the libs showed up promising him the PMO. And I find it insulting that we could have a non canadian as 1st lady of this country, it seems to just cheapen everything about this country. That what is wrong with this country ,have a different opinion and the idiots throw out the r or b word. Sorry but I think when representing this country you should be canadian, or at least applied for it when her husband made his desicion to return, I think it is very disrespectful as disrespectful as your comment. Funny how I get banned for fogetting to add something to a link and yet you can go around calling people bigot's, when you disagree with that person. bloodyminded Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Oh, right. How silly of me to not notice! Well that's because you, like Toadbrother, are too focused and interested in--to paraphrase Ezra Levant--"trivial" and useless matters such as how Parliament works, the nature of Canadian government and democracy, and other silly non-partisan issues that can't have anything to do with "real life" and "the big issues." So you keep missing all the important and vital debates. Like this monumental game-changer about Mrs. Ignatieff, for example. Yes, lying about our system of government seems to have become a major factor in political and campaign advertising. g_bambino Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 (edited) Actually, to be fair... I think fairness went out the window the minute August hit "Post New Topic" to start this thread.
